Short summary

Phoebe is attacked by some invisible force, and Leo advises that it might be some signal from her past life. Phoebe casts a spell to live her former life, and she discloses that she was evil. Her boyfriend Anton was a warlock that wanted to kill her cousins and good witches Prue and Piper to steal their powers. Phoebe finds also that she used an amulet to protect herself against her cousins.

This is the first time Brian Krause appears in the opening theme credits.

The Family Tree shows that Phoebe was born November 2nd, 1975 which fits with the line, "Mom's barely even pregnant with me" from 1.17 "That '70s Episode" when the original Charmed Ones travel to March 25th, 1975 to stop Nicholas.

The family tree shows that Melinda Warren is about halfway down, revealing that there are generations of ancestors that preceded her and were documented on the family tree.

While looking over the family tree, as they come across the 3 names that were most likely to be their own past lives from the '20s, the one in the middle has to be Piper's past life (P. Baxter) because she's the only one showing as married. Her husband's name on the family tree is Gordon Johnson. When Phoebe used the spell to see her past life, "Piper" was married to "Dan" - whose last name is Gordon.

Tyler Christopher, who plays Anton, and Greg Vaughan, who plays Dan Gordon, eventually work together again as 'Nikolas Cassadine (Character)' and 'Lucky Spencer (Character)', characters on the soap opera General Hospital (1963), respectively.

This episode (and the next) mark the beginning of Phoebe and ultimately the other sisters writing spells rather than only finding them in the Book of Shadows, which becomes an increasingly common practice as the show goes on.

Greg Vaughan & Tyler Christopher work again together on "Days of our Lives" as Eric Brady & Stefan Dimera.

"Pardon My Past" is a silly episode of "Charmed", with a weak explanation for the attack to Phoebe. Further, how Leo could be Piper's lover if he died in World War I? My vote is five.

Title (Brazil): "Desculpe-me Pelo Meu Passado" ("Sorry for My Past")

I absolutely love this episode. Well, I mean I love all episodes of Charmed. I just can't help it. It's so amazing! Anyway, I love the introduction of past lives, and I always love time travel episodes.

In this episode, Phoebe is being haunted by her past life, and discovers that her past life is about to die. And since there was a curse put on her past life, it threatens Phoebe's and will kill her when Phoebe from the '20s dies. So she casts a spell to go back, where she is transported into the body of her former self, to find out what happens, and how to stop herself from dying in the present. Phoebe discovers that her past life has fallen in love with a warlock (or demon, I can't rememeber which), and has turned evil. Her cousins; Piper and Prue's past lives) stop her, by cursing and killing her. Phoebe is able to save herself, but has a few bumps along the way.

Best part of this episode: Everything.

Worst part of this episode: Nothing.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Freaking Ridonkulous.

So to me ( even though I have yet to see season 3 ) was a precursor for the Cole/Phoebe storyline. It was so intriguing to see how her dark side was, and when she and Anton joined hands and sat there looking at the sisters I got a sense of other old school villain teams. I also enjoyed how we went to the 1920's and saw the clothes and heard the music. So far the season has picked up from it's stagnant beginning, with Prue quitting Buckland's and the club picking up business. Phoebe has really gone through some transformations this season. I gotta say the sisters powers in their past life were very awesome. Prue breathing ice, Phoebe casting fire, it was all so very entertaining to watch.

Phoebe is being haunted by the past and when she trades souls finds out that she was once an evil witch with a warlock lover. Anton is sexy, dangerous and wants to turn Pearl against her cousins by enhancing her powers. It shows why Phoebe is attracted to the men she hooks up with and her draw to the dark side. It turns out souls travel the same circles trying to find each other in The next life with the sisters being cousins in the manor. The flashbacks to the 30s are very impressive with the automobiles, decor and rich costumes. Even the actresses look like they stepped into a time machine from the way they talk, look and behave very authentic.

The only problem I had with this episode is Anton was suppose to be immortal yet was killed easily by a blast of fire instead of surviving. Also I liked Leo being a lover of Patience who she had an affair with showing how the past influences the present and Leo & Piper are soul mates.
