Short summary

Helen Tracy is a homeless schoolteacher who lives in a storage unit. Scarred by a mysterious and terrifying childhood, all Helen wants in the world is to be alone. But when old memories start to flare and her real homeless friend Ruby-Mae discovers she's been living a lie, Helen must suffer the consequences of her selfishness...and learn to listen again.

Leading actress Stephanie Burd was 'discovered' for this film, having never acted on film before. She arrived for the audition at the very end of the audition time and was immediately cast by the director in the lead role.

Actress Carrie Browde was originally supposed to play Helen's mother. After the actress playing Ruby-Mae had to drop out for personal reasons, Browde was switched to play the part.

The script was written almost six months prior to principal photography. The initial inspiration for the film, however, came over a year before this when director Fitzgerald drew a sketch on the back of a notebook that sparked the idea.

The film's final scene was conceived before a script was ever written. It was also the hardest shot to film.
