Short summary

Reese pitches a plan to use Joe as bait to catch Linda Little Tree but Parmalee doesn't want to use it. He tells them to go to the barracks, prepare for the next day's assignments, and stay off the street. They skirt his rules by using the alleys and in the process catch one of three men escaping jail. Problem is that the man they caught is a Texas Ranger plant who was to escape with Linda Little Tree's men and capture her. Joe trails the other two men while Chad is at Laredo and Reese goes to San Antonio. Joe is captured and wedding plans are made by Linda Little Tree for her and Joe with Blue Dog steaming mad as usual. The planted Ranger, Willie Tinney, decides on his own to go after them as he knows where they were headed. He is able to continue his friendship with the other escapees but a bartender there recognizes him.

While Chad (Peter Brown) and Joe (William Smith) play checkers, Reese (Neville Brand) reveals his has a plan to capture Native American Indian "Linda Littletrees" (Shelley Morrison). Reese suggests using Joe as "bait", recalling that when she last appeared, the Indian woman fell in love with Joe. Captain Parmalee (Philip Carey) has other plans; and, he sends Reese to San Antoine for the rest of the episode. Meanwhile, undercover replacement Ranger Michael Conrad (as Willie G. Tinney) works to infiltrate Littletrees' gang. Later, Mr. Conrad must free the kidnapped Joe.

Conrad works well with the regular Rangers; but, it's a wasted effort. The series scores good continuity points for licorice loving Linda Littletrees' third appearance; it is noted as her third appearance, her love for Joe is continued, and his knowledge of Comanche lore is a character trait. This is the least appealing, to date, of the already limitedly appealing "Linda Littletrees" episodes. Morrison gets to sing a "Comanche love song," repeatedly, "outside the tee pee..."

Shelley Morrison makes her third appearance as Linda Little Trees the woman behind many an Indian outlaw. She was real memorable in her first episode of Laredo where she made a fool out of Ranger trainee Martin Milner.

But she's moved on to her third husband Ralph Manza, but the Rangers know by now she's the real brains in any relationship.

She does have a weakness though, a real yen for Ranger Joe Reilly. And William Smith is ready to do his all for law and order in the great state of Texas.

Captain Parmalee does have a plan involving ruffian Michael Conrad who gets arrested, but equally rough Neville Brand fouls it up beyond belief.

See how it all works out in this Laredo episode.
