Short summary

Tracy is hired to protect a man from an ancient death curse.

Cricket sings "Sing Something Simple," a pleasant ditty written by Herman Hupfield for the 1930 Broadway revue The Second Little Show.

After Caldwell reveals that he has taken the sacred cloak of Kamehameha, he is told that by the time of hoku he will be dead. In Hawaiian "hoku" is the night of the full moon.
