Short summary

This satire, profound and pulpy at the same time, leads the Kurdish "economic" refugee and lovable coward Nasreddin through the contradictions of Austrian society. With the gift of speaking all the languages of this world, bestowed upon him by his mother Safak's ghost, he stumbles from one blunder to the next, is made the object of cultural libido and cultural hatred alike, ends up with the Yugo-mafia, as head of the immigrant affairs division of a right-wing party and in an insane showdown he finally takes control of his own destiny.

"The wondrous strange adventures of Nasreddin Kürtler" is an anarchic satire about migrants. As an Appetizer for the feature film we have made a short film as pilot. "The Wondrous Strange Adventures of Nasreddin Kürtler" won the Förderpreis der Kunstsektion des Bundeskanzleramtes (development grant of the Arts Division of the Austrian Federal Chancellery). It made the finals at the Carl Mayer Drehbuchpreis (Carl Meyer Screenplay award) but lost to another treatment by yours truly (Richard Schuberth) which also dealt with a migration theme.)
