After Thupparivaalan, Vishal is back with another good thriller movie with Irumbu Thirai, which focuses on cyber crime and data hacking. Firstly, kudos to the debut director Mithran for taking up such a script which requires a lot of background research and impeccable attention to detail. And he has executed it really well. The best part about the movie is that he hasn't compromised to any commercial aspects like duet songs and unnecessary romance portions.

Vishal has given a decent performance as the military officer whose life takes a turn suddenly. Samantha, fortunately, has a decent role on offer and she scores well there. Arjun really proves to be an effective and intelligent villain, which was almost the backbone of this script as the movie revolves mainly around him. The other supporting cast comprising of Delhi Ganesh, Robo Shankar were really good too, especially the latter with his comic dialogues which were a comic relief.

Amidst the technicalities, I personally loved the music and the BGM by Yuvan. The theme music for Arjun was quite stylish. All the scenes were portrayed very intelligently and the best explanations were quite apt too. One sort of drawback I felt in this film was the stunts. I felt that they sort of pulled down the weight a little bit when the movie was being carried forward in a very intelligent manner.

Overall, this is a movie that might been scare some of the audience with the scenes in the film and especially the way we are very vulnerable in this digital era. A very apt and relevant movie for this time and it is really informative. Must be given a shot in theatres.

A great awareness movie everyone should watch who blindly give away their private information to anyone.

IRUMBU THIRAI stars the action star Vishal in the lead role. I like his movies because they're action packed and entertaining. This one also is, but what it excels even more in is the screenplay as a whole. Taking the refreshing concept of cyber crime and turning it into an enjoyable action thriller is something very few directors are capable of doing, successfully. P.S. Mithran has done an outstanding job with this film. The theme and its projection is so realistic and close to reality, that I don't think a sane person would actually dislike it.

IRUMBU THIRAI is hands down one of the best films of the year; it deserves truck loads of awards. The film excels in character development, technical aspects, action sequences, emotions and edge of the seat twists. There is no romance or duets/dance numbers, something unusual and excellent for a film of this kind. Songs elevate the narrative to a higher level.

Vishal does an effective job in his role. He has brought out all possible emotions a brave yet tensed man can have when in trouble. Samantha is impressive and thankfully not just another heroine added without a purpose. Arjun plays a menacing villain whose actions can make you feel afraid of him at times. His character has been sketched extremely well. Other actors perform very well.

The film also has a great cinematography. Technically, this film is a pure gem. All the action scenes are simply flawless and executed masterfully. Not a single action sequence has any glitches and the visual effects are outstanding. The background score is pulsating and builds the tension and required impact efficiently.

The emotional sequences have been handled very well. The interval blockade is a complete blockbuster and raises the tension, while the action packed climax followed by an unpredictable ending is what elevates the film to a newer level.

IRUMBU THIRAI is an action thriller which every person, especially all Indians, should see because while it's highly entertaining, the issue it portrays is just so real that it can make us vigilant for the lifetime.

So that each n every indian person should watch it.. It has a great depth of detailed message to educate all indian citizens.

Vishal acts the role of John McClane (Die Hard 4). Movie is adapted well enough for Tamil audience. Unlike in Die Hard 4, many things are explained properly in the movie.

The movie also brings in concepts that even Computer Engineers are not aware of. This is the first time I'm getting to know about the terms Darknet, Tor etc., I have just started to learn what these are.

Minuses:

Samantha was used only for one proper scene in the movie. She could have been utilized more.

Is technology boon or bane is not conveyed properly.

There is no helicopter chasing or Military jet involved in the movie (just in comparison with Die Hard 4 lol)

This movie can be easily called as the first of its kind movie in the current Data based world, where it tries to explain the B&C class audience who are majorly middle class people about how their lives are infected due to the online platforms/tools that they use on daily basis and how those tools expose/use their data to manipulate their whole lives. I felt that the movie could've been better, there were several flaws/loopholes that degraded the overall value of the movie. Villain/Antagonist character seemed baseless and Hero/Protagonist character seemed like an dumb/illiterate person.

This film shows how data can be misused and what's happening in our country with such a online fraudulent activities rising each day.Vishal is a new day hunk with such a fine action and energy also Arjun is unbeatable till the climax.

Good movie with alot good information regarding cyber world. Maybe some of information inaccurate in actual world, but the main point clearly explained well. Especially how middle class persons fall for online spam messages and fake loan request documents. Great movie to watch......

It's worth spending your time to watch this brilliant movie especially in the current scenario. Its an eye opener for those who blindly allow their data(ADHAR) to be captured by anyone who approaches from getting a SIM card to using a public toilet. The movie will make you think twice before you surrender your ADHAR details blindly.

Kudos to Vishal and the entire team for their bravery to come up with such a theme. And no wonder Vishal was targeted by the govt officials.

The story was good, but the some movie part was boring

Some what true story. We have to appreciate Vishal for acting in this film. In Tamil Nadu he is creating awareness on piracy and Cyber crimes.

This one movie will make one think whether it is really safe to use a handphone which is very essential for us now! It also gives other food of thoughts like family values, love, forgiveness and to be brave to fight back against injustice not only for oneself but for everyone. Yes, there are times where logic can be tested. For instance, will the police still allow the person who has been handcuffed to wear a high tech wrist watch? Well... Just simply lean back and watch the show. Vishal, Samantha, and Arjun will make sure that you will enjoy it!

Excellent movie. One of the best movie of Vishal. Songs and BGM in the movie was also very good. The movie was so interesting and thrilling. The movie has a new script. The action scenes in the movie was also excellent. Arjun's acting was also excellent in the movie. Mainly Delhi Ganesh and Robo Shankar acting was also excellent. The movie has many turns and twists. The movie was not at all boring. Everybody acted very well in the movie.

First of all, let's talk about Tamil cinema. I don't even have words to describe this cinema. It's in one word phenomenonal. It's the most creative industry in India.

Now let's come to this movie. I want to appraise the director PERSONALLY for trying such a new concept and that too in such a detail. Let's keep aside all the other ingredients which made this movie a great movie like Acting, Story, Action etc. The main thing which made me astounded was the RESEARCH done for this movie and all the aspects of online fraud this movie tried to encompass.

The research is so well done that a layman like us can't stop clapping throughout the movie. It's a eye opener for us to understand the humongous fraud which is normally ignored by all of us. And that too from such a platform which has became an inevitable part of our life.

I am satisfied with the reviews which I saw before watching this masterpiece. And I would recommend to others too.

It's an above average flick, but has definitely opened the doors for people get awareness on cyber crimes. Storyline was very good!

Aadhar was one of the biggest blunders (or was it intentional?) of the current Indian government and there's no better subject for a techno thriller in India but surely the freedom to explore it has affected the film. The dangers of the cyber age for the common uninitiated and uncaring Indian citizens always have scope and that has been utilized here to make an engaging thriller. But being a commercial Tamil film the film can't resist but show unnecessary comedy scenes and gravity defying stupid fight sequences that never let's the film to be as good as it could've got.
