JK LOL is a short narrative film shot in the style of reality TV, about Brandon Campbell, a struggling stand-up comedian, as he competes in a three day comedy competition. While the camera crew follows him throughout the contest, we catch a glimpse into his life as a recovering alcoholic, meet his family and friends, and see the important role humor has played in his life.

Many of the actors, including the three contest finalists, are professional stand-up comedians.

The film was shot in four days.

Jen's cake was a bakery bought cake which was painstakingly "de-beautified" to look home made.

The comedy club and green room scenes were shot in the famous comedy club "The Comedy Connection" in Boston.

The man playing one of the comedian finalists, Andy O'Fiesh, was the subject of another one of Stacey Palmer's films, "Andy". It is a documentary about a stand-up comedian who performs naked.

The title is an acronym in Netspeak language meaning JoKe Laughing Out Loud.
