Short summary

The documentary "I LOVE THE NIGHTLIFE" draws inspiration from the homonymous book by the two djs Corrado Rizza and Marco Trani. It shows from an Italian point of view the beginning and the evolution of the profession of disc jockey, which nowadays has reached its maximum media visibility consecrating some DJs to a level of actual pop stars. From the end of the 60's, after the opening of the mythical Piper Club, to the beginning of the 90's, the City of Rome became the capital of amusement. In the 70's, legendary discos opened such as Much More and a gay club, Easy Going, when simply the word gay stirred up scandal. The 80's were the years of Histeria and Gilda in Rome, while Vogue and Plastic were opened in Milan. The documentary shows how many famous Italian artists of today started out as DJs at the beginning of their career, such as: Jovanotti, Fiorello, Renzo Arbore, Claudio Cecchetto, and Roberto D'Agostino.
