After a girl disappears in suburban Los Angeles, two friends go the last house she was seen in alive to search for any remnant of her, but discover something stranger in its place.

There were multiple ideas of how to end the movie. The principle photography was done without knowledge of what the ending would be. During the first day, Bex Taylor-Klaus improvised the moment with the lighter, which then was used as a bookend for what is now the conclusion (decided on that morning).
