Short summary

After their latest traveling salesman guest manages to sneak out of the hotel without paying his bill, Kate and Uncle Joe learn that there is a guidebook for traveling salesmen on how to get out of paying their bills at certain hotels, Uncle Joe's name sprinkled liberally throughout the document as the key to doing so at the Shady Rest, with Kate's name mentioned as the person to avoid at all cost. What they don't know is that there is a similar guidebook for people in the entertainment industry, one such book in the hands of Harry Harmon, the owner/operator of a traveling circus, which currently has no business and thus no money. Harry not only plans on coming and going to the Shady Rest without paying his bill, but also having his entire troupe of about a dozen performers stay at the hotel and eat the meals provided instead of the five circus members who will officially check into the hotel, again without any of them paying a cent. It may be easy for them to pull the wool over Uncle...

The title is based upon the song "There's No Business Like Show Business" by Irving Berlin from the musical "Annie Get Your Gun."

This was the last original episode broadcast in black and white.
