Elliot's Wood documents the story of a young boy who decides to run away to the woods. The movie follows him as he fights for his survival, facing hunger, wild animals, storms, and most of all, loneliness. The audience hears Elliot's opinion throughout the movie through his various journal entries, and they sympathize with his efforts to survive comfortably in the woods. After many blows from Mother Nature, Elliot, tired and sullen, is confronted by May, a girl who stumbles upon his home in the forest. At first suspicious, Elliot is not keen to make a friend of her, but in time, May breaches his bold cover of braveness and eventually forms a friendship between them. The movie ends with optimistic feelings from Elliot.
