Camping is something that we all know about, but a lot of us don't ever do. And that's thanks to movies like Friday The 13th and others, where we all learned that when you go camping, odds are that you'll be murdered in some horrible way. Well, a new movie by Pau Maso, Who's There?, will have you putting that tent back in the garage and hitting the old couch! Here's the story: Ashlee and Natalie are on a camping trip, just out to see some nature and enjoy a quiet break from school. When they cross paths with Christensen, Natalie has a funny feeling...which will soon come to fruition. It seems that Christensen has more than camping on his mind, and if someone has to die as the result...so much the better! Who's There? is an excellent short that takes advantage of its lower budget, there's no blood, and yet there's a horrific murder at the end...on that's so much worse because we just hear the description and the initial screams! Maso has crafted a great short that really leaves you wondering what the hell just went on. From the beginning, straight through to the end, you'll be confused and yet glued to your seat to see what happens next. I'm hoping that there's either a longer version in the future...or a sequel that will take us further into the world of Christensen...it's a dark world, but it looks well worth exploring.

I'm giving Who's There? 4 out of 4 cigars, it's dark, it's mysterious and it's totally worth your time!

I'm not going to get into great detail here because this film is just not worth it. Acting is cringe-worthy, camera work is poor, soundtrack is amateurish, and the story is ridiculous. Just because you have a camera and are able to convince some of your friends to stand in front of it doesn't mean you should be making movies. And if you are going to play a major role in your masterpiece, at least take an acting class.

The Good: It's only about 27 minutes long. Anybody can endure 27 minutes. This one will test your limits, though.

The Bad: Everything else. This type of movie may sometimes offer potential as a "so bad, it's good" form of entertainment. Not this one...it's just plain awful in every sense.
