Ever since they made a childhood vow over a plate of french fries, Jane assumed she'd be Susan's maid of honor. But now it looks like Shelly, the uber bridesmaid, is angling for the job. Shelly wants the job so bad she can taste it. She's put three years of hard labor into this friendship: dinner parties, book clubs. If Jane thinks she can just pop back into Susan's life and take away Shelly's rightful place in the wedding, she can think again. After much jockeying for position, Jane's not sure she even wants the job. She looks stupid in an up-do; she loathes pastels; and she's disorganized.
