Arthur Douglas wanted to go to Now York with a friend to see the sights along the Great White Way. He knew his employer would hardly approve of letting him off from business for this purpose, so he had a telegram sent to himself, stating that his mother was very ill. With tears in his eyes he showed this message to his employer with the desired result. Arthur and his friend met a couple of lovely little "fairies" in New York and then the gay time started. Meanwhile Arthur's employer had received a telegram which made it necessary for him to visit the New York office. After finishing his business he took a walk in Central Park, where he found a lady's handbag. He was amazed to find in it a photograph of Arthur; also a card with the name and address of Arthur's mother. As it was in the neighborhood, he decided to call. He met Mrs. Douglas, who was far from sick; indeed, she was a beautiful and buxom widow of forty. She had not seen Arthur. What might have happened to Arthur if Mrs. ...
