The film follows Jillian, a young pianist who is going through the process of composing her first original piece. During this point of her life, she embarks upon a new relationship with Will, an offbeat and idealistic man who causes her to re-examine her approach to her art and to the people in her life. Through scenes from the two's relationship, we observe the delicate balance between the all-consuming desire to fulfill our personal endeavors and aspirations and our desire to cultivate and nurture meaningful relationships with our loved ones.
