***SPOILERS*** M Squad's Let. Det. Frank Ballinger, Lee Marvin, has his hands as well as fists full solving this brutal double murder case where both George & May Franklin, as well as their pet dog, were beaten to death by their killer. With the prime suspect next door neighbor Joe Whittaker, Barry Kelley, arrested for the crime in that Kelley & the Franklin were always at odds with the Franklin dog doing his thing on Wittaker's lawn. Ballinger for his part feels that their's a lot more to these murderers then a dog pooping on Whittaker's grass. Ballinger also has to hold off the Franklin's hot headed son Bill, Robert Kanapp, from attacking Whittaker in feeling he murdered both his parents as well as their pet pooch.

Following a hunch Let. Det. Ballinger soon finds out that the Franklin's killers who turned out to be ex-boxer Tiger Phil Kelly, Fred Grahm, and his wife Elizabeth, Rita Duncan, who were involved in a con-job that went terribly wrong. The Kellys by Using the Franklin's dead daughter Rose as an excuse, in being close friends of her, to win over their confidence as well as money caught them with their guard down. When George Franklin found out that the two were con artists and using his dead daughter to con him out of his money he threatened to report them to the police! Which in Tiger Phil losing it ended up with him and his wife May getting beaten to death!

****SPOILERS**** It was Ballinger who at first got the worst of it when he confronted the crazed Tiger Phil and his fiery wife Elizabeth in their hideout but overcame that with a sneak right that in the end put the deranged and out of control ex-boxer to sleep for a ten count.
