The original idea for the film was re-written 5 times before the script became final.

Production was 29 hours and Post Production was 46 hours. The grand total for the film is 76 hours for 4 days.

The original cut was 14 minutes long. Due to the long introduction sequence, the Dallas International Film Festival insisted the removal of the intro sequence, resulting in the updated run time of 12 minutes.

Though achieving success in his future short films, "Hysteria" is Zachary Butler's most notable work.

An Official Selection at the Dallas International Film Festival High School Shorts Showcase 2013. This marks Zachary's second year in a row with a film in DIFF.
