This is a Benigni style subtle comedy depicting real-life with that tiny bit of freedom to one's imagination. It is set in Prato, with some shootings in Firenze. Francesco, the main character, is a young man searching for work with a nosy mother, a missing father, and a girlfriend set to dump him. This Peter Pan goes through all sorts of mishaps throughout the town meeting young and old, aristocrats and gypsies. He has a very convincing stammering, differing from that played by Hoffman in Rain Man with an added propensity to repeat words in the sentence which is quite funny. The complicity with boy reminds of the one portrayed in "La vita e bella". Francesco Nuti (the actor) acted in many films of Ponzi as well as auto-directed himself. Probably the most famous film of his is "Son Contento" (Ponzi).

Very enjoyable movie for those who like this genre, though some could find it boring as the actual plot is quite simple. {Italiani, check out my forum entry}.
