Molly is trying to figure out how she can only invite ten couples for Sammy and Dora's small and intimate wedding, which will take place in Carrie Barnett's sister's home. Molly and Uncle David worry about who will be insulted that they weren't invited, and Carrie Barnett has the same fears. Jake, as the groom's father, offers to help pay for his half of the wedding, which was not the norm at the time. He decides to keep his offer a secret from Molly. Carrie and Molly simply can not whittle down their lists, and the number of couples grows from 20 to 61.
