Solomon Polinsky is an 84 year old jewelry maker who fled from the Soviet Union in 1990. Initially motivated by survival, he began making filigree, a very labor-intensive style of jewelry so that his family would have some money to live off of in the USSR. This short process film shows him now, 35 years later, still making the same wonderful jewelry. The short takes you through his extremely intricate process, mixed in with parts of his life story and how he sees himself and his legacy as he approaches the end of his life.
