The protagonist of our story is a psychiatrist who has earned a considerable amount of fame in her profession at quite a young age -- in short she is famous. She is strong willed, confident and apparently tough, according to her all her pains and anxieties are her extremely personal affairs. That inside the hard exterior resides a sensitive mind is something that we come to know much late -- in fact at the end of the story. A mother brings her depressed teenage son to the psychiatrist, initially the son does not want to cooperate, but eventually and gradually we come to know about the primary reasons of his depression, his disturbed childhood, his loneliness, his relation with his mother and also the personal life of the mother -- her disappointments, sufferings, sacrifices, and infirmities.
