The Monroe's have a vacation cabin on Shimkus Lake in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. Ellen (Joan Hotchkis) is preparing to leave there in a cab to take her to the station. With work to finish, John (William Windom) is set to join her the next day. While talking with the cab driver (Tom D'Andrea) about his fidelity he fantasizes his attractive neighbor Mrs. Bessinger (Lee Meriwether) as a showgirl on the sidewalk. Later while working in his attic office he continues his thoughts while looking out the window at the neighbor sunbathing. The mail arrives and John accidentally receives Mrs. Bessinger's letters. In his imagination she comes to his house with a blunt "I want you". She appears once again as he works up a romantic evening, but doesn't realize it's not his imagination. When Ellen appears and catches his actions a violent fight breaks out with the females. Is it real or imagined?
