I am a pure Hanna-Barbera fan and a pure fan in animation also! This was another great and enjoyable series! Yogi Bear was first a segment on The Huckleberry Hound Show and then Yogi got promoted to his own show and Hokey Wolf took Yogi's place on The Huckleberry Hound Show. Yogi Bear's guest stars on his show were Snagglepuss and Yakky Doodle Duck. I remember that before Snagglepuss got his own show he first guest starred on some other Hanna-Barbera cartoons like Quick Draw McGraw and Snooper and Blabber. He guest starred he was orange and then when he got his own cartoon he was pink with cuffs and collar tie which made him look like a brother to the Pink Panther almost. Yakky Doodle is a duck who has a dog friend named Chopper who would always stick up for him. I liked some of the Yakky Doodle cartoons when they have Fibber Fox in them. I remember in every Yogi Bear cartoon, Yogi Bear would always tell his sidekick, Boo-Boo that they are getting a picnic basket and Ranger Smith always catches Yogi red-handed which I thought was funny. This cartoon is smarter than the average, hey hey hey!

The Yogi Bear Show is not my absolute favourite of the Hanna-Barbera shows; I think Scooby Doo Where are You? and The Flintstones are better, but this is still a very funny and smart show. The animation is crisp, colourful and smooth, and the music is really infectious with a theme tune that sticks firmly in your head for ages afterwards. The story lines are interesting and exciting, the writing like the show is funny and smart and the gags are inspired. I love the characters, lovable Yogi, Snagglepuss, Boo Boo, Yakky Doodle, Chopper, Cindy Bear and Fibber Fox, they are all great and likable. They are all well voiced by a truly terrific voice cast, Daws Butler, Don Messick, June Foray and Mel Blanc all to name a few. Overall, hey, hey, hey, this is a very entertaining show. When this show was on I watched it every time I could! I thought that the characters were really funny and all had great personalities. The animation in My opinion was crisp, clean, and really clear. Not to mention beautiful! Most of the characters in this show are like the hilarious Looney Tunes characters that we all love. in My opinion these characters are the funnies and talented ever seen. In fact, The things that goes on in this series' cartoons are in My opinion nuts which that is what makes them hilarious! There are so many to like and laugh at and the silly things they do! If you like the original Looney Tunes then I strongly recommend that you watch this show!

This short t.v. show was funny, excitement, and plain old great, it's not bad for a long time ago show that has been in the air for 27 years. That is a long time and you know why that long, because it was a great show. Yogi is a bear that wants a lot of food for hibernation, he and his partner in time Boo-Boo will not stop going past the ranger and get the picnic basket. But they always fail in one after another way in a funny way but different ways. And he has a girl name Cindy who loves him but Yogi doesn't love her back, thats so funny.I wished they never stopped making "The Yogi Bear Show", the people back then and right now will miss the show.

I have been a fan of ALL Hanna-Barbera cartoons for a long long time now. They are all pure fun, very very funny and just totally wacky. What's not to like about them?

Yogi Bear featured, well, Yogi Bear. He was joined by cute sidekick Boo-Boo (a nickname I gave to my baby brother many many years ago). Together, they caused havoc at Jellystone National Park. Much like Hanna-Barbera's other creation Top Cat caused havoc for Officer Dibble, Yogi and Boo-Boo caused havoc for Ranger John Smith.

There was a lot of fun in all the episodes as Yogi and Boo-Boo did what normal bears do-nick food. Of course, in real life, a bear will not only nick food but nick your head as well. Thankfully, Yogi and Boo-Boo were a little more mild-mannered.

All in all, a fantastically funny show. One of my favourite scenes which I still remember now was where Yogi shot an arrow through the window of a cafe and the arrow-in mid-flight-caught a cake, a turkey and something else. The arrow came out another window and hit a tree where Yogi was waiting to collect his food.

See why I liked it?

The one that started it all. A legendary animated series that we all know and love. I wish it was still on the air because I would still be watching. But seriously, how was this show on so long? Anyway, it's not the thing to see if you're in the mood for something uplifting, or something with tons of thrills. But it is a sort of gem in its own right. Even if you are not a cartoon fan, you will likely be entertained by all this 1960s series has to offer. I suggest you enjoy the first seven or so episodes for what they are and let your mind play around with the opportunities there can be to make something interesting. Overall I can give it seven out of ten for its effort and writing.

I remember first catching this show when I was home alone, sick with the chicken pox. It was great entertainment for to pass the time - a funny and uplifting cartoon about smooth-talking Yogi Bear of Jellystone National Park, where he and his trusty friend Boo Boo tries to charm picnic goers to go after their picnic baskets, instead of feasting on the usual forest berries. Meanwhile, Park Ranger Smith tries to stop them.

Plenty of adventures and misadventures to keep the show exciting, and lots of humor and jokes to keep you laughing. Yogi Bear proves he is smarter than the average bear, outwitting people left and right. I've always enjoyed the Ranger Smith character as well, as he tries effortlessly to keep order in the park while getting driven nuts by Yogi Bear. He asserts his authority when necessary, but at times could be seen as a friend toward the bears.

Nothing over-the-top here - just a good old fashion and innocent cartoon but with plenty of adventures that is great for kids and family.

When I was a kid this used to be quite a good animated show, especially from the makers of Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones, Hanna-Barbera. Yogi Bear is a brown that wears a hat and tie, with a friend Boo Boo Bear. Every episode is the same similar storyline, basically Yogi and Boo Boo always try to steal picnic baskets from visitors at the local national park picnic area. The only person that got in their way of getting food out of these baskets was the park ranger, who looked similar to Officer Dibble in Top Cat, except more stressed. Yogi was a nice bear, but brown bears are meant to kill people, they made him cute, not ferocious. I especially like the episode with Yogi's love interest. It was number 80 on The 100 Greatest Cartoons. Worth watching!

Think about it. Yogi Bear is a free spirit who chafes at the rules and regulations of his limited world, and yet enjoys the comforts it offers. His swiping of picnic baskets is less to satisfy hunger than to thumb his nose at the "establishment", personified by Ranger Smith. His appearance on TV in the early 60's was fortuitous, as it coincided with the start of the Beatles' career and the beginning of the hippie movement. I wouldn't have been surprised to see Yogi wearing love beads and carrying a "Make Love, Not War" sign. LOL Trouble with Hanna-Barbera, though, is once they had a good thing going, they didn't know when to stop. After the success of Yogi, they churned out numerous, inferior copies: "Wally Gator", "Magilla Gorilla", "The Hair Bear Bunch", etc. Originality was not their forte.

;A true classic. A icon of shorty funny cartoons. Well at least when I was ten. Run home for lunch, when I was 10, an Yogi was on! Between sandwiches , and milk, I would get a chuckle out of iconic lines like: "Hey Boo Boo how are you!" "A pickanick basket". Everyone remembers the episodes with the Japanese bear! The one with Yogi flying the helicopter! "Yogi can I have your pogo stick?" And " pull the cord Yogi!" Those lines still make me chuckle. Dated for to days standards. Yogi before social message educational children's shows was stupid, silly with out any educational value, a staple of what I found entering back then and still do. Iconic voices, characters and line. Eight out of ten stars.

One of the most classic series of Warner Bros. Pictures, very entertaining, full of jokes and adventures that make everyone laugh. Highly recommend.

Uggh. It's amazing that in recent years, old shows, whether good or terrible, have attained "classic" status. A while back, I heard some folks on TV referring to Yogi Bear as a "classic" cartoon and was absolutely shocked! Imagine,...a terrible cartoon with abysmal production values is now seen by some as a classic?!?! No way,...that is, unless classic means "heaping pile of crap".

Back in the 1950s, Hanna-Barbera productions was a good thing. They were responsible for some wonderful Tom and Jerry shorts and they were well-respected. However, after getting fired by some idiots at MGM, they couldn't afford to direct cartoons with high production values. The number of frames used per second and the backgrounds for the animations in their new non-MGM toons were strictly bargain basement. And, in addition to low production values, they simply were unfunny and meant to appeal only to very young kids. And, by the 1960s, lousy quality cartoons were now the norm, so Yogi Bear was a pretty successful cartoon--along with other totally uninteresting characters as Quickdraw McGraw and Huckleberry Hound.

So my final verdict is that they are crappy and helped usher in a 20-25 year period of horrible animation. Thanks to newer higher quality animation from Nickelodeon and others, hopefully we can forget this crap and realize that older isn't always better. Don't waste your time with these cartoons.

AFTER STARTING OUT as a second feature on the HUCKLEBERRY HOUND Show, success and high popularity with the public led to his own half hour show three short years later. It was THE YOGI BEAR Show that joined in a long parade of successes from Hanna-Barbera Productions.

BEING ANOTHER EXAMPLE of and prime exponent of the art of "Limited Animation" that was popularized by the economics of necessity on television, the dialog, verbal gags, music and sound effects were even more important than in theatrical animated shorts. That they were so constituted and dependent on the sound tract, they were given a special sort of nickname. They were oft referred to as "Illustrated Radio."

IN MUCH THE same manner of so many other of Hanna-Barbera's other productions, the characters have voices, appearance and behaviour are copied from real persons, well known from show biz, sports world or politics.*

IN THE CASE of Yogi Bear, it is a case of double copying. This special classification comes from his name being derived from NY Yankee's all time All Star Catcher, Yogi Berra and his voice and expressions' being derived from Art Carney's characterization of Ed Norton on Jackie Gleason's Classic series, THE HONEYMOONERS.

AFTER SOME EARLY experimentation with various settings and circumstances, the production team found a winning formula. Adding Yogi's diminutive sidekick & stooge, Boo Boo and his perennial antagonist, Ranger Smith of Jellystone Park.

IT WAS DEFINITELY a winning combo and has become ingrained into the very collective psyche and Pop Culture of America.

HOW ELSE COULD we have the nationally known chain of camp sites which bear the name of "Yogi Bear's JELLYSTONE PARK?"
