Trailers "Go (1999)"
The director picked the grocery store that the movie was filmed in because of its "run-down, big city" quality. When the producers paid the owner of the supermarket for permission to film there, the owners took some of that money and repainted and repaired the store, for a more "hollywood" look. The director and producers were understandably unhappy with this, since the only reason they picked the store was how it looked in the first place. The producers, after getting consent from the store, hired a crew to bring the store back to what it had looked like before. The finished product is what you see in the film.
Sarah Polley has said in interviews that she only took the role because she loved the line in the opening scene: "...and look how far it got you."
Director Doug Liman originally did not want to cast Scott Wolf in the movie because Katie Holmes was already signed, and he did not want the movie to star two TV actors. However, he saw him talking in a hallway with Jay Mohr and realized that the chemistry between the two would be good in the movie.
Casting was problematic due to the adult nature of the plot and the fact that teenage actors would have been too young to portray half the actions in the script. It was then decided to cast slightly older actors who could pass for teenagers.
Timothy Olyphant, who plays Todd, thought the character needed a neck tattoo. However, the director, Doug Liman, thought it was a bad idea, because it would make him appear too sinister. The next day, Olyphant showed up with a temporary tattoo of a pair of flaming dice that the make-up department had stamped on his neck. Liman ended up liking it and it stayed in the movie.
Writer John August had originally intended "Go" to be a short film. The original screenplay was made up basically of the "Ronna" part of the script. The other two sections were added to explain why Simon went to Las Vegas and who Adam & Zack are.

Although Doug Liman had no objection to scenes of multiple drug use, he did his best to cut out all instances of smoking.
Christina Ricci was originally cast in the role of Ronna, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.
When Adam is trying to make room in the trunk, there is a brief shot of a box of Tide that is pasted over with the Confederated Products label.
Sarah Polley had to be really convinced to do the film as she had no desire to make a movie in Los Angeles, preferring to stay in her native Canada.
When Wolf and Mohr are talking in the supermarket about the cheating girlfriends Mohr says, "Isn't it ironic," to which Wolf replies, "don't you think," which is a line from the Alanis Morissette song "Ironic".
The letter X, or the figure X, is a recurring motif in the film-Malcolm X, Xerxes, X (=Ecstasy), Mary Xmas, Room siX-siXty of the Riviera, the X Simon draws on his arm as a target, at the end it's revealed that the rave was held in what is otherwise an XXX porn emporium.
Melissa Joan Hart was considered for the role of Ronna Martin.
Timothy Olyphant was only cast in the film after he was fired from Igapäevane nõiakunst (1998) and replaced by Aidan Quinn. Early in the film: During the attempted drug deal with Bill Fitchner , Scott Wolf and Jay Mohr; Scott Wolf mentions that Traci Lords - the Adult Film Actress - is one of the "promoters" for the rave taking place that evening. Although Traci Lords is not in the film, her and Breckin Meyer share the same birthdays.
At the time of the films production; Scott Wolf was referenced as a 'Young Tom Cruise.' Jay Mohr also starred with Tom Cruise in "Jerry Maguire." Years after this film, Katie Holmes would be the wife of Tom Cruise.
In the scene where Zack is trying to convince Adam to help carry Ronna's body, he tells him that it's just a scene and to, "Say hi to Molly in wardrobe". This is a reference to Molly Grundman who was key set costumer in the film.
Sex is repeatedly a bad omen. Ronna and Todd talk about sex as a metaphor for betrayal in all of their scenes ("I don't give my best friends head"); Simon is having sex when the hotel room catches fire; Zack and Adam talk about how they both cheated on each other with Jimmy and getting their revenge on him before accidentally running Ronna over; Todd and Claire on the stairs before they meet the strip-club bouncers.
