» » Starsky and Hutch Shootout (1975–1979)

Short summary

A taut hostage drama featuring a wounded Starsky, Hutch and other patrons of an Italian restaurant held captive while a pair of hit-men await the midnight arrival of a mob boss targeted for assassination.

Huggy Bear says Starsky's full name: David Michael Starsky.

The establishing shot of the hit men's rainswept hotel is reused footage from the pilot episode.

Rebuffing Hutch's concerns about how weak and wan he looks, Starsky jokingly claims to have "played Camille in high school," a reference to the Alexandre Dumas play about a woman stricken with consumption (tuberculosis) whose health slowly declines towards death. The most celebrated film version is Camille (1936), which starred Greta Garbo, Robert Taylor and Lionel Barrymore.
