This film caught my eye from the beginning. It is in a very professional style with some of the best performances I've seen from a short. The awkward story seems like something only the filmmaker truly understands the meaning behind, like Lynch or Kubrick would do. You can't help but walk away talking about it when it's over. The acting, as I stated, is superb. The boy does a lot with a little, and the couple in the car are an interesting mix between the Cleavers on "Leave It to Beaver" and the Bundys on "Married....With Children," only it's scary more than funny. The leading man reminds me of a young Jack Nicholson, and perhaps that's why he was especially riveting. The other two actors, the Ringmaster and the Geisha are perfectly cast, because you can't look away while they're on screen. Every performer demands attention, and gets it. I highly recommend this short for its complexity and original story.
