It's awesome just because of One actor for me that is Anas Rashid a.k.a Taari. His expressions and the way he portrayed the role of a Badass Person is just awesome. Wish to see him soon in more movies.

Nankana's film is excellent and purposeful and calls for the abandonment of fanaticism. I liked the performance of Anas Rashid for the first time we see him in a different way and he succeeded. Now we are surprised by the role of the villain and he is so convincing that you hate him in the film, I'm sorry Anas, I advise everyone to watch Nankana. Waffa Hania

Movie with a good message and cinematography 6/10 for that. But script was just average, Main villain who killed baby Nankana's real mother, was roaming free in the end of the movie, how come a killer is enjoying freedom like this. It's sad when establish celebrities like Gurdas Maan & his wife Manjeet Maan (director) don't give chance to local Punjabi artists and prefer non-punjabi artists for main roles in punjabi movies, who can't speak THETH & fluent Punjabi. Even lead actress of the movie Kavita Kaushik, couldn't pronounce the movie's Title or Baby's name Nankana properly in Punjabi, she had a lot of hindi touch in her dialogues. Her dance moves in song GIDHEY VICH were very fast & funny for a Gidha song. Although she is a talented actress, i'm a fan of her. But it's big duty of the director to keep an eye on these important things & explain to artists. Punjabi industry has got heaps of local talent, we don't need Raj Babbar type Punjabi speakers anymore in our movies. Whoever done the job of English subtitles for cinema version, made a lot of mistakes like they used Gurudwara instead of Kotwali, Pritap instead of Pirtam, Maggie instead of Maaghi/Maghi and many more. Every artist from around the world is welcome to Punjabi industry but its a duty of movie makers to prepare them before starting the work.

Although I don't really have big expectations from this film . I am a fan of Gurdas maan but as a singer not as an actor. But I expected atleast a decent film . But this is far from being decent.

The film has no major plot till first hour . First we have the introduction of Karma(Gurdas Maan) ,a flawless person then comes his wife (another extremely good personality) who has just one role -to love his husband (and later her child) , then his bapu(the only grey character ) ,his brother who is mentally unstable but good from heart, his evil and his half brother taari who is exactly opposite to his brother . Then we see him(Karma) teaching at school (teaches them only social values , no need for syllabus) . Then he gave a lecture to inspire villagers to fight against british (No one expect him knows that Britishers are expoiting them) . Then his family gets invited to a wedding. He mildly opposes child marriage .Then a long song at marriage. Then , he sees a revoltee dying. He informs the martyr's family . Then another song . 52 minutes into the film but we still do'nt know what the story is . Then he and his wife meets a dying man . He gives a baby to them . Unable to find baby's real parents they adopt him . After one hour , we are introduced to the title character Nankana(the baby) . After the real story starts , film gets better . But , its already too late.

Whole aim of this story is just to show how good our protagonist is. It tres to give us so many messages but confirms nothing . Background of this film is colonial India but we do'nt see any britishers throughout the film .Everyone enjoy complete freedom throughout the film.
