The Great Simpsina is a fantastic and magical episode of The Simpsons and I would say the highlight of Season 22(well apart from The Fight Before Christmas and Angry Dad The Movie) and i has been a great year for The Simpsons, lots of great episodes and lots of great guest stars.

The episode starts with the family going to pick peaches, they end up coming home with 1000's of peaches out of the five of them so they try to make uses for all of them. But Homer,Bart and Lisa are sick of eating the peaches, including Marge peach pizza and peaches BLT (PPP),so Bart and Lisa through them into the dump while Homer takes Marge out.

Lisa ends up becoming a musicians apprentice for the Great Raymondo after running into his house.Eventually he tells Lisa the secret to the great milk bottle trick but after she does it at school she tells it to a boy that shows an interest to Lisa,to boy turns out to be the son of Raymondos enemy Gregg Demon, who decides to preform to trick for his next performance, its up to Lisa to stop it.

I thought this was an enjoyable episode already, from the strong main story about Lisa becoming a magician's apprentice; but the ending is surprisingly poignant and raised the episode another notch in my estimation. Raymondo the magician was a memorable one-shot character. I kind of hope they don't bring him back because that would lessen the impact of this episode.

In typical Simpsons fashion, the story starts out one place and ends up somewhere quite different, due to life's unpredictability. Lisa becomes an apprentice through a typically Simpson-esque sequence of events. Her relationship with Raymondo was the strongest part of the episode. It was also fun to see the shady character gets his comeuppance.

(Spoiler) Near the end, Raymondo proves he is a greater magician than either Cregg Demon or even Harry Houdini himself! I thought that was a great touch, which was very understated.
