This is a short documentary about surfing of the coast of England . I'm afraid that unless you have a serious interest in surfing then this docu is not for you . For example the narrator Michael P Bick tells us that it's " Bloody cold " off the coast of Fiztsell (sic ) beach in Febuary . Quite , so why do all these people from all different backgrounds like architects , gynecologists and builders find any sort of adventure or entertainment in riding the waves of a cold dank English coast ? Why does a woman called Gwynedd who is the wrong side of middle age take up this extreme sport ? We're never told because the surfers are never asked in Sophie Williams documentary which is obviously produced with an esoteric audience in mind and despite being very well photographed and edited and features a type of camera called an aqua cam I never felt my interest being aroused in anyway

Although it is perhaps a bit too in awe of its subject matter, this film is still a pretty interest bit of memory relating to surfing in the waters off the Cornish coast. While an older man recalls his surfing days we view modern footage of surfers and the coast – some seen from cameras mounted on the boards. The footage is technically impressive while the static shots make good use of the landscape but neither of them really aid the memories being spelt out by the narrator. Luckily Mick does a good job of recalling his days with a fondness and he is interesting enough to listen even if he doesn't have a great deal of insight and does occasionally slip into a rather pompous look at the sport.

Interesting then, with good direction and narration but is more likely to be of interest to British surfers than it will be to the casual viewer.
