As it is said for the movie, the plot has been inspired by the famous Aarushi murder case from the real past. The adaptation of the base idea has been beautifully executed and characterization is superb. Casting is the solid base and writing takes full marks. When a film maker attempts to show the ugly face of the society of millionaires, its becomes a responsibility to show it in its true color. Director has done a great job in execution and presentation of the movie. And when the audiences know the facts before hand it becomes more tough to make the whole story more interesting and exciting.

It has the power to make you glued till the end.

First half is all being the mysterious one and even the 80% of second half goes on the same mystery path, and at the end it is revealed. But yes, movie doesn't end till the last minute, for the audiences and that's the best thing, for a murder mystery thriller. Its a must watch for all those audiences who really like meaningful and quality cinema.

KK's acting is superb and steals the show. The others are also usually good (with occasional overacting). I had never noticed Tisca Chopra earlier but she does a pretty good job in her limited role. Overall, characterisations are pretty good.

Neat story. So far, I am unable to find a plothole.

Many elements in the movie are portrayed realistically, with minor details like the behaviour of a hotel manager also taken into consideration.

Overall, I liked the execution of the movie, a rare murder mystery from Bollywood. Recommended watch.

Simply the best thriller and suspense movie I watched till now. KK Menon Sir, I am your new fan after watching this movie. Great direction, superb acting from all of the cast. The movie is so awesome, it keeps you engaged all the time. I just love the plot, screenplay, story and everything about the movie. I wish the CBI acts in same way as shown in the movie, but unfortunately our CBI is also corrupt and they cant solve a case in the same manner as shown in the movie. Great movie, Awesome Acting. Its sad to see that movie of this kind wont earn much and wont get much fame in India. But third class movies of SRK and Salmaan would earn millions.!

Rahasya is one of the best suspense thriller in recent time.its gripping screenplay and the matching direction keeps you always on the edge of your seat. brilliant performance by Kay Kay and his dialogues added more weightage to his presence。。。 yes being an audience it was my defeat by not guessing the right culprit till the end but i really enjoyed this defeat with a broad smile cause never expected such an extra ordinary climax with a logical reasoning.i must congratulate Mr. Manish Gupta and his team for this brilliant masterpiece and expect the same kind of quality work from him in future. Wish you luck for all future en devours.

Rahasya is a murder mystery loosely inspired by Arushi murder case. The movie is about the murder of a teenager girl and the attempt of a CBI officer to unmask the killer.Their are many positive points about the movie and writing is one of them which is engrossing. Its screenplay is very absorbing.Right from the beginning you begin to guess about the killer among them. The flow is very fluent and the movie is a straight forward one.Their are no unnecessary sub-plots or scenes which regulates the flow of film. The main quality of the film is that it keeps you guessing till the very end.The apex of the movie is superb.1st half is good and intensifies the mystery. The way the suspense builds up is really amazing.2nd half is good although is a bit overstretched.

K.K menon is a very good actor and plays the role brilliantly. He is awesome in the role of a CBI officer and as a husband who cares for his family and can't compromise with his moral ethics. He doesn't takes bribe even when his wife forces her to do so by referring their weak economical condition. His dialog delivery is so simple and riveting. His expressions are brilliant. He is simply a powerhouse of talent.Tisca chopra is good although in some scenes she becomes uneasy.Ashish vidhyarthi was awesome. Its good and soothing experience to see him in such a brilliant role.Rest of the star- cast is also good.

Manish Gupta, with his direction shows how excellent storyteller he is?The ways he proceeds the story while not loosing his grip is truly worth applause. Dialogs of the movie are good and matches consummately with the tone of the movie.Cinematography is good and captures the true Mumbai where the poor and rich peoples live together. The locations of the movie is good and magnifies the tense atmosphere of the movie positively. The length of the movie is short although could have been little more shorter.

If you are a lover of a mystery thriller then you must go for it.It is very rare in bollywood to make such a climatic and vivid thriller which makes you guessing till the end.It is a gripping and riveting film which keeps you hooked.A nice and realistic cinematic experience. I would lovingly rate it 7.4 out of 10.

Excellent Triller . This movie reminds me about a true case which happened recently in India .The start case is awesome and Kay Kay Menon has done wonderful job . The producer has provided the audience to think in all directions where until the end of climax come its not clear about who is the prime suspect for the murder. The mystery which is known in the end explains the real story which happened that night in the house of the doctors. The title of the movie is the right name for the thriller and the case which has been plotted which is being portrayed by characters shows relations between high profile societies which are really not visible in real life . Also the story depicts real life situations which can happen to anyone .

Today I watched this movie and hats off to the all caste and crew of this movie. It's gripping from the very first frame and did not waste a single second of it's length. I really enjoyed this movie being a mostly foreign movies watcher and I couldn't understand why this movie got no big stand and exposure. It's a truly suspense thriller of a class.

Kay Kay Menon rocks as usual and he's in his full form. Ashish Vidyarthi also did well and Tisca Chopra done well in her role. In short, every character was excellently written and directed. Manish Gupta really needs a big round of applause for making such underrated icon.

It's a strong suspense movie so I don't want to write anything else... just watch anyhow you can get it. That is all.

Manish Gupta's second whodunit Rahasya is loosely based on Noida double murder Aarushi Talwar case. However, most facts have been de-arranged as the case is still open. This two hour long murder mystery is not an edge of the seat thriller but will surely keep you occupied with new events enfolding every next minute. Rahasya is directed on Agatha Christie theme, where the detective revels the murderer's identity in presence of all the characters. Coming after The Stoneman Murders (another wonderful murder mystery), Rahasya reinforces Manish Gupta as a prolific story teller. Kay Kay Menon never disappoints and presents his character in a classical flair. In spite of a great cast, a great story and a great controversy attached to itself, the movie has few rough edges. Nevertheless, it's a good movie and you will not regret watching it.

    My Rating : 7/10

Good watch. If you are after a Bollywood thriller, this fits the bill nicely. Great actors all put to great use. Enjoyed the acting, background piano score, the end reveal.

Worth it if you want a classic whodunit! Recommended.

Watching Rahasya made me happy. The movie was a pleasant surprise. No big budget, no songs, no Bollywood gimmicks...still a good movie. The crime thriller has a good cast. It starts slowly and grips you as the plot unfolds. Very well-paced, the one mystery leads to another, much like some of the Korean and Danish thrillers. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. The acting is good, direction is effective and the main plot seems to be inspired by a real incident. Together, they make Rahasaya, an unlike-Bollywood thriller. Good that there was no song and dance numbers. I don't wish to spoil the party by talking about the plot and the well-timed twists. You must relish it on a lazy afternoon. Totally worth it!

Rahasya is a very good thriller, till the last few minutes the real culprit cannot be identified, the story is well written. Chetan who is named right from the start is actually dead & has almost no role more than a minute of screen time. The detective played so well by Kay Kay actually at one time feels he is like a dog trying to catch his own tail. The best & most emotive of all actors was the role played by Ashwini as Remi fernandes. She could outclass even Kay Kay & Tisca. It is time we watch these kinds of movies than the 3 cheap Khans in their dumb movies. Rahasya is a must watch.

I watched Rahasya on TV last night. Wasn't sure quite what to expect as I did not remember the reviews when it released.

This is an out and out Kay Kay Menon movie and he did his role brilliantly right down to the last scene.

Rahasya is a tightly scripted, taut murder mystery which keeps you guessing almost till the end.

The plot is interesting and deliciously complicated as any good murder story should be. All the actors essay their roles very well.

This whodunnit will appeal especially to fans of Agatha Christie, and to anyone who enjoys a good murder mystery.

I guess this is derived from well known Talwar case of Delhi.

Movie team has perfectly articulated story and created this plot.

It would have been better if they could start the movie with gel up scenes.

Still its new story and best acting from KK Menon.

Good to see Ashish V after long time. Directory has managed to run multiple thread in one story.

Its inspiring story to all officers who are honest and want to protect justice.

Hats off mr. menon for another good movie.

They should have promoted this to audience. This kind of movies are far better than typical masala ones. They entertain well and give value for money deal.

I enjoyed the movie as it has done justice by showing crisp imitation of real world scenarios (as its inspired by Arushi murder case). Every scene was directed with same energy towards the story line. All characters were introduced and highlighted, still it was really difficult to guess the murderer. The climax was superb.

Few suggestions: Some scenes should have been shot in more light. Murder mystery stories need not be necessarily showing dark screens/ environments.

For making a movie on an actual murder case, it seems Director had to take care of group sentiments, however the casting team could include some superstar to add glamor to the story.

Pathetic excuse of a "crime" movie. Annoying acting by the whole cast. From the first scene when the body is found you know it will be a horrible movie. The reaction of the mother to finding the dead body of her daughter is laughable. And then we get introduced to one annoying character after the other. The glaring flaws in the script will leave you scratching your head. The director has tried too hard to make this movie's cinematography convey suspense. He fails miserably. The music score annoys the s#@t out of you. Do not waste your time on this pathetic excuse of a crime movie. You'll be better off reading the Wikipedia page of the real crime this movie is based on than wasting your brain cells on this piece of sh@#t believe me.

first of all, this film isn't worth the hype it is getting. It feels unrealistic at most of the time.

A teen girl got murdered and suspicion goes from one person to another. In the climax, when the killer is indeed shown, you can get the feeling that, "yes, i have knew it all along because the killer was shown in a very innocent manner till that moment." It just raises your eyebrows when everyone is getting suspected yet, that person is going unnoticed ALL THE TIME.

Lots of plot holes yet, considering it is from bollywood, i am forgiving in that part. The climax is way too much "filmy" than a practical one.

it isn't a 7+ movie. it is more of a 5.0 to 6.0 one. If you want to watch a good thriller, i'll recommend "Ugly" it is 8.3 as of now (jusrtified rating).

To decrease the inflation, i'll give this film a 2 star (more so for cinematography) so that its rating goes a little bit lower to reflect the correct measure.

Not a disappointing movie. an okish one.

I had read a lot of good reviews about this movie and was looking forward to watching it, since some of the Indian thrillers I've recently watched have been satisfying; such as Talvar, Highway, Pink, No One Killed Jessica etc. etc. But this was not one of them. The story starts out so complicated that I was wondering what kinda geniuses would the writers be, to wrap it up in a decent a way, but it didn't end with a good or even an ok twist. The twist connected to all the incidents throughout the movie was so dumb and childish that I could not believe the rating was so high for this movie. I gave it a three only for some good acting. Gosh the part where he exposes the wife of murdering the kid and she repeatedly answers: "huh? huh?" And to believe such a stupid person whose only response to all these allegations is "Huh?", instead of a good alibi or explanation, is behind the master plan of a double murder, is impossible. I don't even wanna talk about the plot holes and waste more time on this garbage.

Much depends on the director. After all it is he who directs how people act in a movie. Manish Gupta delivers a very ordinary film. The movie needed a tight script, realistic dialogue and method acting. The aforesaid ingredients are however conspicuously absent from the scene. All the actors in the film have been ill-utilised. The acting lets down the entire show. Aiding this downfall is the unimaginative dialogue and plain editing. None of the actors is convincing , and even Kay Kay Menon seems rusty in his performance. In fact right from the opening scenes to the climax, one witnesses a sequence of melodramatic scenes .

The movie slowly progresses from a credible who-what-how thriller to a a half cooked and far fetched masala movie. The multiple plots that are intertwined never come across as mutually compatible . The screenplay , like the story, is unrefined and malnourished.

The film also has a copious quantity of clichéd elements and tried to hide its stereotypical image under the garb of "realistic-underbelly-vernacular-socio-linguistic" settings. I do not blame the director , it is quite the fad these days.

The climax predictably misfits the preceding reels, for we have the writer trying to dramatize a Hercule Poirot tête-à-tête revelation , but what with a mediocre story and weak direction, ends up diluting the movie's credibility even further.

All in all, it is not a great movie, but one can watch it once , in lieu of the very many cheesy romantic flicks being released in bulk. However, if I were to pick out a good Hindi language thriller from 2015 , it would have to be "Talwar" (Dir: Meghna Gulzaar) , with a far more effective and realistic depiction of criminality and criminal procedural law.

Director Manish Gupta returning to the genre of 'whodunit' suspense thrillers was enough to give me that much needed excitement as I really loved his THE STONEMAN MURDERS and rate it as one of the best films in this particular category coming from the new age talented actors and directors of Hindi cinema. So eager to see Kay Kay Menon once again in a Manish Gupta film, I entered the theatre in high spirits and came out largely satisfied with another well-paced, engrossing and a fine crime drama giving you the worth of your money spent in those two hours.

Inspired from the infamous Aarushi Talwar murder case that kept everyone guessing till many months (or rather years), RAHASYA comes to the point right away with the murder and doesn't waste any time on silly introductions breaking the set norm of a Hindi film. It considers the viewers intelligent enough to take this no-nonsense opening spiritedly and then goes on building the suspense factor with its exceptional cast ensemble quite well. The film gains it actual momentum once Kay Kay comes in playing the main investigation officer and his interrogation sequence in the lockup lifts up the story progression impressively.

The interest is kept alive post intermission too as the script unfolds many gripping twists and turns as expected from a worth watching murder mystery. Plus the usual format of the subject doesn't get monotonous or boring, shifting the suspicion constantly. A song less film as it should ideally be, RAHASYA has an OK background score that could be more exciting as I personally felt, but the cinematography catches the feel of the theme perfectly. Here I would specifically like to mention the way Manish Gupta and his DOP conceive their dark (night) sequences, lighting them brilliantly with a visible distinction if compared to many other films. Interestingly Manish's THE STONEMAN MURDERS also had the same merit, causing a huge difference in the overall impact of the film that had its major part of the story happening in the night only. Kay Kay Menon being there in almost every scene of the film post his introduction, plays the intense lead role superbly (in his full form) along with Ashish Vidyarthi, Tisca Chopra, Meeta Vashisht, Ashwini Kalsekar and Manoj Maurya doing complete justice to their given characters in the script. Particularly it was a relief to watch Ashish Vidyarthi back in a good substantial role after a long gap and nice to see Ramesh Deo too in a cameo. However I wish Ashish and Tisca had more scenes together filling in the emotional depth missing in the film as far as the family conflict is concerned.

(Spoilers Ahead) In other words, despite revolving around a young girl's murder in her room possibly committed by the father only, RAHASYA doesn't have that warmth making an instant heartfelt connect with the viewer. It remains a dry 'whodunit' crime thriller mostly that successfully manages to keep you engrossed throughout with some evident loopholes that can easily be caught by any avid fan of crime films or novels. For instance, the flats of any high rise buildings in the metros normally never have a false- flooring with that much space to hide a dead body so easily (for so many days!). Moreover the involvement of Police officer in the case also turns out to be completely unconvincing, hampering its desired impact on the viewer post the climax-revelation.

Having said that, RAHASYA still remains a worth watching movie without any doubt, especially if you are a fan of Kay Kay and this interesting genre of 'whodunit' suspense thrillers ending on a shocking note. So do give it a try for sure and don't reveal the secret to anybody else as a responsible movie-goer, keeping their interest alive.
