After running away towards space, the Megarangers had to face the evil empire again. They get a brief and easily understandable explanation about their powers and them pursue the enemy ship with their recently discovered abilities. Everything is digital here, I guess I'm going to hear it a lot over the series. One of them has the power of a digital camera, the other one is a digital satellite, a computer... They engaged a mecha battle, celebrated and prepared themselves to leave to Earth but they soon realized the battle had just begun. Yay, more 49 episodes!

It seems like Toei was really excited about 3D and the digital era. The transformed heroes are seem flying around as a 3D drawings and there's a really abuse of some kind of warp effect. That should be a expensive effects pack back in 1997. Although the chroma key effects are pretty simple executed with boring angles they actually managed to do good looking animations. At the same time they are not as elaborated as in a Transformers movie or something like that, the FX crew were smart enough to make this scenes look cool and fast at the same time making them fast doesn't give you enough time to notice that they didn't apply perfect looking 3D models. It reminds me of the first Power Rangers Movie were they had that crappy 3D mechas way before Toei over-used the 3D models in the Gaoranger orgy. I'm looking forward for the series but I just don't care about the villains and I hope it gets better. That's why we'd watch a heroes saga, right? Nothing really special about episode 02, only a characters presentation. One can definitely skip this episode.
