Crybaby Bridge: The Legend of Elizabeth (2013) watch online HD

I like found footage horror so I was ready to cut this some slack but I'm afraid this has too much of an amateurish feel to be very scary. The acting is pretty bad and the movie's "bear" (frightening thing) is way overexposed, and very obviously just a garishly lit, rather frumpy woman in an old-fashioned nightgown.

The movie-maker really should have taken a cue from classic FF movies and kept the shots of the ghost to an absolute minimum. The shots are much more effective when she's just flitting across the screen for half a second than when she's right there staring into the camera, which just made me smile and ruefully shake my head -- "are they kidding?" Is all I could think. The final confrontation on the bridge is a howler, feeling very much like a home movie attempt at horror rather than a theatrical film. It was an epic face palm moment.

I'm not completely disappointed I watched it, because I'm a found footage completist, but I think that's the only reason anyone would want to watch this, to be perfectly honest -- to say they've seen every FF movie, EVEN Crybaby Bridge.

. . . CRYBABY BRIDGE is likely to scare the spuds out of you! Horror fans may recall that SPIDERMAN director Sam Raimi felt compelled to leave his native Wolverine State to find a shooting location while cutting his directorial teeth on EVIL DEAD. Not so for CRYBABY BRIDGE director Forrest Patterson II, who stayed "in the middle of the Mitten" by shooting his picture in the boondocks of Edmore, which hosts the annual "Michigan Potato Festival." This film begins as a cross between an early Raimi woodsy scare fest and something akin to fellow Michigander Jeff Daniel's DEER CAMP (a.k.a., ESCANABA IN DA MOONLIGHT). After 45 minutes of odd incidents such as unexplained vandalism to a quartet's hunting cabin thrown together with some fairly humorous bits about the foursome trying to attain their camp "chemistry," the last half hour rushes to a conclusion featuring hand-held footage similar to THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and a ghost story involving a bridge cursed long ago. If you know Michigan, you'll probably swear that CRYBABY BRIDGE is based on a True Story. You'll also be wishing that Mr. Patterson eventually makes his own SPIDERMAN-like triumph, so that Hollywood will fund him $200 million or so to remake CRYBABY BRIDGE with CGI whitetail deer and horrid hags.
