In some ways routine and in some ways interesting, this splatter heavy horror flick at least doesn't skimp on thrills. It stars Laura Breckenridge as Mary, who during Spring Break has a little too much to drink. During her drive home she unknowingly strikes a man and he gets stuck on her bumper - which she doesn't realize until she gets home. Acting out of pain and rage, he lashes out at her and she whacks at him with a golf club hard enough to finish him off - or so she thinks.

While it does succumb to the genre cliché of having a "villain" who's hard to kill, it does work in terms of a story where things just keep spiraling out of control. Neither main character is completely sympathetic, which does help. And neither character is completely one-dimensional. Unfortunately, "Hit and Run" is one of those modern genre flicks that goes for the flamboyant visual a little too often, for example, camera angles and editing. This really wasn't necessary. Credit needs to go to the director, Enda McCallion, in one respect. This film never ever stops moving; the pacing is excellent. "Hit and Run" might be some things, but boring isn't one of them.

It's basically decent, gory and visceral entertainment. It's a dark film but is still rather compelling and never goes too far over the top. It even has the nerve not to have a standard, clichéd ending. The acting is acceptable in the main roles, with Kevin Corrigan - a guy you may have seen in films ranging from "GoodFellas" to "The Departed" to "Pineapple Express" - doing fine as the sullen, disturbed antagonist. Overall, it's perfectly watchable and maintains a good energy level for 84 minutes.

Driving home drunk a young lady hits a bump in the road and thinking nothing of it continues on her way home. Later that night hearing noises she finds that the bump wasn't nothing, rather it was a man who is now mashed into the grill of her car. Deciding against calling 911 she chooses to finish the guy off and then bury him out in the woods. Unfortunately he's not dead and he's really angry. Dark film starts off some what by the numbers, but then things slowly turn darker and darker with more than a few twists turning things rather black. The power of the film is not so much from anything in the film so much as from the progression of the story. There is a nice internal logic that keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat wondering where this nightmare is going to go. Worth a look see, though if you're like me don't be surprised if this think hangs around the edges of your mind.

To tell you the truth, I don't know what to think of this movie. On the one hand it's pretty creepy, nightmarish and well made, but on the other hand its entire premise is weird and ridiculous. I seem to remember many years ago a true story about a woman who hit a guy and drove all the way home with him crushed to the grill of her car. Well, that's the way this movie starts, so much so that you might think that it's based on that story. And for the first half of the movie, that's the way it plays out, as sort of a drama about how this woman who has killed a guy with her car is coping and trying to cover it up. But then all of a sudden it turns into Saw Part Seven the gore fest as the hit and run victim isn't really dead but is now a raving psychopath hell bent on torturing Mary the drunk driver. What the. . . There's just no point to this movie and I guess that's why it is so demented and hilarious.

Members of MADD won't exactly get a kick out of it, because the victim of this drunk driving accident is a crazed lunatic wielding pruning shears, unless this is a vision of DUI hell. We can't root for the girl either, because she's a stupid bimbo who, after all, did run over a pedestrian after binge drinking at a bar, and then re-kills him, like, four more times. Even though this movie is totally absurd, I have to admit I had a ball watching it--and Laura Breckenridge is a fabulous actor--so that's why I'm giving it a seven. But, come on, the guy should totally open his eye during the last scene; that alone would make it an eight.

Alright, I really enjoyed this movie, but it compared to I Know What You Did Last Summer. This movie featured the hot Lauara Breckenridge, recently seen in 2009's Amusement. In this stalker shocker, she plays a college student who is trying to enjoy spring break and winds up having too much to drink one night a a bar. Believing that she is good enough to drive, she winds up accidentally hitting a man on a dark road, but doesn't realize it until she gets home. After trying to cover up the accident, she and those around her begin to be stalked at every turn. I really enjoyed this clever thriller and i definitely recommend it those who are looking for a movie to watch with friends. Also, the DVD cover is really neat!!

this is still a pretty fun attempt to bring 1960s B series to film. One of the best things about it is the narrative creative, vivid direction, that captures the spookiness of the events. It's a tale that has several different horror themes usually tempered with some dark comedy on this obnoxious party girl that causes havoc.

Despite some missteps,it offers up good gory fun. Some of the acting is good, too, particularly the man who gets hit.

I think it's pretty clear that the amount of enjoyment you get out of this movie is directly related to how sick your sense of humor is. Those people with a fairly big tolerance for sick humor, such as myself, will like it.

This is a funny movie and a scary movie, a senseless movie and a stupid movie. It has all the elements that make up a good movie, but yet it is still not a good movie.

It's not a bad movie either...how can this be?

It has scary parts. It has funny parts.

Every few minutes the story changes...but one thing is sure...it's vivid.

With a small budget to most people...but more than my weekly paycheck, this is an entertaining little feast that would be best viewed when drinking some hard liquor, eating a good pizza and smoking some fine herb or whatever your choice of recreation is.

Just with the knowledge that you don't hop into your car afterwards before you sober up.

I would have liked to see the dead dude open his eyes or crack a smile at the end.

This movie is an absolute classic of B Movies in all respects. It has all the elements that I think make a great thriller and horror film. There are great weird twists, situations, and visual flourishes. The film has a very suspenseful storyline about a woman (Mary Murdock) who accidentally hits a man (Timothy Emser played by a transformed Kevin Corrigan) on the road and unknowingly brings him back to her garage on her bumper. The story is original, with some elements of urban folklore sprinkled in as well. The film unfolds fluidly, and goes more and more bonkers and wild, and I was sitting on the edge of my seat through the whole thing in a sweat. The acting, I thought, was pretty good and believable. Corrigan pulls off a shocking performance. Twist after twist, the movie had me pulled in to the very last scene. B Movie at its best. 9/10

Interesting plot, pure minimalist horror. It starts off well when Mary Murdock (played by Laura Breckinridge) drives home drunk from a party and has a near-accident on the road. She thinks she just missed a tire in the road, but she has another thing coming. Later, she discovers a half-alive dude dangling from her bumper in the garage.

He tries to kill her, then she accidentally kills him and then her whole life and all her plans turn upside down. Some have compared this to a similar-themed movie "Stuck" or "I Know What You Did Last Summer", but beyond the obvious plot of the beginning, I didn't see the similarities. For example, in "Stuck" the girl knows she's hit a guy and doesn't do anything about it. In this movie, she doesn't realize till later and ends up being stalked by him.

The action sequences were not bad, some very exciting. It had some eccentricities and odd things that made it stand out from the usual fare. Like the whole thing with her being tied to the bumper... I hadn't seen that before in these kind of movies. One thing is there could have been a bit more suspense in the middle part. It seemed like the film went into her 'delirium' mind so much we lost touch there for a while with reality, but maybe that was the point. The actors are fine (Kevin Corrigan as the wacky bi-polar psycho is freaking weird), creepy mood and there are some unexpected moments.

I wouldn't consider this really a horror film, it's more of a thriller in the sense that typical horror films stick to a strict formula. Killer preys on victims then victim eventually wins. This movie throws that all out the window. I wanted to make this a spoiler free review so without going into specifics, you have a difficult time trying to decide who the victim actually is. How do you define victim? Usually in horror films it's clear, here, its not because the victim and the killer behave in ways you don't expect in a typical horror fashion.

The story structure is a journey of what to do next and then it turns that formula completely upside down when the main character who is in the driver seat becomes the passenger along for the ride. The character in the "killer" role takes you to unexpected places with satisfying results.

You never know what will come happen next with this movie, and that's the fun of it. I recommend it for those looking for something different.

This movie reminded me of a comic book more than a regular movie. It was like watching a comic unfold from scene to scene. When they used the split screens and the wipes it was like out of a graphic novel type of stuff. It just had the general "feel" of a comic book adventure. I was not expecting that.

This is a weird movie. The way they made the movie is a little peculiar in style the way it moved from real to unreal. There are weird angles and jarring edits sometimes. There were some scary scenes here and there. What I liked about it most was that it wasn't trying to be pretentious or more than a nifty B movie pleaser, and it broke some conventions and rehashed some horror movie clichés in its own way.

"Hit and Run" is one of those films that has thrills and scares the spectator really well when it works. Some of the action sequences are exhilarating, especially toward the end and especially for a low-budget horror flick. The scenes in the dark woods were good. I only wish the part with her tied to the bumper as the car drives crazy through the night would have gone on longer. The story is pretty tight and if you don't like a lot of padding in the story, this one is pretty straightforward, with a couple of good twists here and there. A mood of paranoia and uneasiness to boot for 84 min, fairly short and sweet.

Laura Breckenridge was a surprisingly effective scream queen (and she looks great in wet clothes). Chris Shand as the loser boyfriend, and of course the bad guy nut-case freak Kevin Corrigan (The Departed, Goodfellas) as the deranged psycho. Overall, I'd say while this had some quirky unexplainable moments, it had what I basically look for in a horror movie, some gore, scares and suspense.

"Hit and Run" is a cool little low-budget horror that is more than meets the eye, IMO.

One of the wackiest horror films I've seen in a while. Cm'on the girl's tied down on a bumper with Xmas lights and taken for a wild ride on those dark roads as revenge? You got to be kidding me! Great stuff. Spooky too. I thought the film plays as a piece of black comedy and horror which makes it pretty bizarre and worth watching, especially for a dtv. It's a blend of teen horror and suspense that is fairly unusual and at some point, enters horror la-la land. The film kept my interest throughout. For a little while, it moves along predictably, and then it takes a turn for the unexpected stuff and sections of action.

The lead actress (Laura Breckenridge) delivered a believable performance. The bad guy Kevin Corrigan does a good job as a school teacher who becomes a deranged weird villain after being buried alive. What's up with those teeth, man. If you enjoy some sick humor, then you might get a lot of joy out of this film, and it works pretty well as a straight horror film too.

Watching "hit and run" is not a comfortable experience. Beyond the obvious gut-wrenching events of the film, it will make you wonder. "What would I do in a similar situation?". the story is pretty ambiguous which is good. you don't know who to sympathize with. Emser or the girl.

One thing in my opinion is the angles. Maybe to much camera angles. it's very fast.

The lead actress does a cool job with the nature of her dilemma. She's believable.

Overall, it's a pretty decent and fun B-movie to watch.

One thing I did like the way the story took shape based on the accidental hitting of the guy. It was cool the way she took him home the bumper without knowing it. I was totally absorbed in it till she came home somewhere in the middle of the movie. At that point, she starts to have more and more delusions and though they were very vivid, I wasn't sure if what was going on was always real or not and I felt confused. Generally the lead Laura Breckenridge gave a decent indie-type performance as Mary the hit and run perpetrator. Most of the movie she's dressed in skimpy clothing with her cleavage hanging out. But still she managed to come across natural. Kevin Corrigan was not too bad as the hit and run victim-turned-killer. The action picked up mid way through and then it took off with a lot of road stuff. Overall, I'd say it's worth a look if you like the B movie sensationalist films.

HIT and RUN follows the story of a college student who after she returns home from a night of late partying, is drunk and listens to music and before you know it, she is swerving off the road and almost has an accident. It looks like there was a tire in the road. She gets home just to be awakened by a noise coming for the garage and once she goes in there comes face to face what she has done, which is bring a man she hit with her car back home on her bumper all bloody and generally a real big mess. And now she has to figure out what to do and makes a lot of bad choices that seal her fate in a lot of ways that she could have avoided if she'd just called the police but then there would be no movie. This low budget horror has some of that "I know what you did last summer" feel to it but overall it has some pretty enjoyable parts to it if you have the patience to get through the slower parts. Also, if you don't like the main actress (Breckenridge) then you won't like the movie because she's on screen like 90 percent of the time. Always call the cops, never take these matters into your own hands, but that's what Mary does because she is scared to be in trouble. One thing I liked was the way the horror parts were kind of concealed and surprised us in the second act. The movie kept me asking the question that maybe the whole hit and run was in Mary's head and maybe the victim coming back for revenge was not real. Maybe the whole thing was just a bad dream. The action was strong, even if sometimes unbelievable, it was still effective and even if you have to check your logic at the door sometimes, it did keep me interested in how it would all finish.

This horror flick somehow reminded me of the "Creepshow 2" episode 'Dead Man's Curve" and less, but to a certain degree, "I Know what you did last summer". This film holds up pretty well on its own, though. The story seems to be based on an urban legend where someone finds they accidentally hit a stranger at night and brought them back home to the garage stuck on the bumper and barely alive. I found that whole idea entertaining and scary. This is followed by an attempted murder and revenge.

The acting for a horror film is pretty good. The lead girl Mary and the boyfriend Rick are convincingly authentic, much more than I expected. Kevin Corrigan (from The Departed) plays the twisted bad guy and while I wish there had been more of him, I liked what I saw. He had a certain creepiness that caught me off guard.

All in all, much to my surprise, this little movie offered a lot more than I thought, intense action sequences, some gore, horror, suspense and last but not least, some good dance music.

"Hit and run" is a dark, horror comedy with some thriller elements. I thought the story worked pretty well right up to the twist at the end.

I'm leaning to believe that this psycho-chiller film is intended to be morbidly funny. But, at this same time, it really freaked me out. The whole thing is very ambiguous, everybody's to blame when we head into this quickly changing nightmare world. I wasn't sure what was coming next and I think that's what i liked about it.

And perhaps it's this very tension along with some high energy (especially in the second half) that makes the movie worthwhile among the current horror fare.

Ultimately, in my mind, the film is a character study about a girl who is pushed to the edge of madness, due to to the events unfolding from a simple accident. She starts imagining things and her sanity is hanging by a thread. The bad decisions that Mary makes in the crisis lead her in a strange way to chilling redemption because she can't escape her fate. Breckenridge is terrific in her role, by the way.

Well, anyhow, the villain (played by Kevin Corrigan from 'Grounded for Life')really pushes her buttons and makes her weekend totally insane. You really hate his guts but at the same time you feel bad for the poor dude, he's so screwed up. pretty good flick for a stormy night.

Well, let's say I didn't have much expectation. I wasn't crazy about the trailer. but the film is fairly good.

The story is the bizarre tale of a woman who hit a man with her car and discovered him stuck on her bumper, based on a true story or an urban legend.

The teacher in this case is played by the solid Corrigan, whose teeth give him a feral appearance, and this is his scariest role so far.

I was pleasantly surprised by the lead actress and the events that unfolded. She's doing a fine job and she's pretty sexy. Very natural.

Worth watching, not bad at all for nightmare horror /suspense.

Film is a study in what goes wrong when you make one wrong decision after another.

It's a like a nightmare that snowball out of control. like some kind of train wreck in slow motion.

Hot Mary swigs a few too many at spring vacation blast. She gets out of the slimy hand of her dude, who can't keep his lips to himself. Mary don't listen to common sense and drive home stinkin' drunk. She accidentally kills maniac teacher off his meds on her bumper. He don't come off that bumper easy, he's like impaled on that thing.

    Tell the police, right?

Nope. She hides the body and of course everything goes wrong. Because he wasn't totally dead, and he's mad as hell to kick her butt. Bad influence boyfriend trying to get into Mary's pants, even while she's figuring out what to do about the supposedly dead guy. To sum it, Mary gets attacked at home and taken for a real nasty ride, The end.

Its's hard to make a horror movie about the horrific events that surrounded the true story of stuck in the windshield. Registered nurse high on ecstasy runs over a homeless guy who ends up stuck in her windshield. she drives him home and watches as he slowly dies. she gets 50 years for murder. Well these two movies are are worse than the actual event. in both movies the intoxicated "womyn" drivers run down a guy and don't call the police. They call their boyfriends to do clean-up and both boyfriends are killed by the still alive. In "STUCK" the there's a winner, in this movie there's no winners. The victim goes into a pet cemetery deal and attacks his family. he stalks the suspect and it ends badly and bloody. As in STUCK and the actual event itself.

I saw this on vod. A crazy guy gets hit by a drunk gal, Mary on a dark road. The next day she finds this "creature-man" on the bumper on her jeep. Somehow he is still alive. She finishes off the job and then next comes the shallow grave in the forest behind her house.

She is plagued by guilt and gets her dumb-butt bf involved. He advises her real badly not to tell the cops about what she's done. Bad move. You can tell he's a jerk and doesn't care about her at all except probably for sex, but he ends up dead so that's okay in my book.

The creature guy is still alive. He's not really a creature, just a really messed up looking guy covered in blood and in some bipolar dementia. I was surprised by some of this movie. The chase, hide and seek and fight scenes are actually suspenseful and exciting when you get to them. Only fast forward past the periodic gore, if you have a weak stomach for gore.

They face off and Mary succeeds stopping this stalker but not all turns out the way she thought it would. The characters are not that developed but I guess who cares??! Don't get me wrong i enjoyed it, but the middle part could have accelerated faster to the action. A watchable B movie with a good actress.

Movie becomes horror genre when TIM kills his wife in front the eyes of her kidnapped. After a subliminal but present moral lesson on drinking and driving, she escapes. First part of this movie Hit and Run is basically a thriller with some horror elements. Mary Murdock, a young college girl comes back from a late night of partying with buddies. On her way home, she is singing along to music and does not notice a tire in the road. She swerves to miss it.

When she hears noises in her garage that night, she's horrified to find a man stuck on the bumper. He is barely alive, bleeding and mangled. She tries to help him but he wants to grab her leg, so she beats him with a golf club. She buries the body in some nearby woods.

In the morning she tries to cover up all the evidence of the crime, but she gets more paranoid and feels she is being watched. She starts going off the deep end and doing more and more insane things. She tells her boyfriend about what happened and he participates in the cover up. He tells her to keep mum until the media fest dies down. Without giving away too much, it comes about that the dead guy (who is called Emser and is a bi polar school teacher) comes back to stalk Mary. Rick her boyfriend ends up dead.

At this point, the movie shifts gears into something like surreal horror. Many events start to feel disconnected as if we are in Mary's anxiety dream. Emser stabs her and then in continuing the act of revenge ties her to front of the car and drives her around empty highways scaring the living hell out of her. He then takes her back to his house and leaves her in the garage, like she did to him. More murders take place by Emser and when he takes Mary to bury her in the same grave, things take another turn when she gets away and another hit and run is going to happen, this one a purposeful one.

In this second half, the thriller suspense gives way toward more grotesque fantastical horror elements. The movie somehow manages to blend these different styles into a somewhat coherent curious package.

Freshman director Enda McCallion's gripping little thriller "Hit and Run" is a nimble, well-made melodrama about a college student on spring break who may have accidentally killed a man that she has never seen. The premise of "Hit and Run" is a nightmare that everybody who imbibes eventually will experience. After a night of binge drinking, you wake up the next morning with dread in your heart as you struggle to remember whether you hit and killed a pedestrian with your vehicle. Good camera placement, effective thesping, suspenseful atmosphere, and above average helming make this low-budget nail-biter a rewarding experience. Although the idea is straight out of "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "Hit and Run" is a worthwhile chiller.

Mary Murdock (Laura Breckinridge) is on her way home after she leaves a bar where her friends and she were trying to drink the place out of liquor. Mary's worthless boyfriend Rick (Christopher Shand) tries to dissuade her from leaving to no avail. While they are saying goodbyes to each other, Mary steps into the road and a speeding vehicle narrowly avoids hitting her. On her way home, Mary swerves past something in the middle of the road and winds up off the asphalt. She recovers her senses and the vehicle and then cruises home. Conveniently, Mary's parents are away for the weekend leaving her to hold down the house. Later, Mary is lying down in bed when she hears something go bump. Imagine Mary's apprehension when she discovers the body of a man (Kevin Corrigan) stuck on the front bumper of her jeep. When she tries to help the poor fellow, he turns on her, and she seizes a golf club and pummels him unconscious.

Afterward, she drives him to a remote place in the woods where she digs a grave while rain pours down on her. She wraps the victim in a blanket from her vehicle and places him in the shallow grave. Later, Rick shows up at her house and Mary confides in him that she has killed a man. Since Rick's arrival, Mary has learned that the man she ran down was a popular school teacher. Mary freaks out when she realizes that she wrapped the dead man in a blanket that the authorities will be able to trace back to her jeep. She calls Rick on her cell phone and they agree to rendezvous where Mary buried the corpse. Mary is in for a rude awakening when she learns that the body wrapped in the blanket at the burial site is not the school teacher!

McCallion opens "Hit and Run" with a shot straight out of "So I Married an Axe Murderer" as a bartender fills shot glasses on a waitress's platter. The Fluid camera work, straightforward scripting, and the use of reliable stalker movie scenes make "Hit and Run" a rather compelling sit and watch experience. Although it is somewhat derivative, "Hit and Run" qualifies as an impressive debut film for McCallion. This exciting, 84-minute never wears out its welcome but it may rattle squeamish viewers with its blood and gore element.

Hit and Run stars Laura Breckenridge as Mary. It stars Kevin Corrigan as Emser. How to sum this one up? I guess an indie version of Creepshow 2's Dead Man's Curve meets I Know What you did Last Summer. The uber-hot Laura Breckenridge is the accidental murderer in this very decent b horror movie "Hit and Run" which comes off more as an indie film. The teacher she hit and buried comes back for major drunk-driving revenge (creepshow2 anyone?). The poor girl has got an okay performance going here. She's mostly in skimpy wet clothing, which is not a bad thing. Her cute kim kardashian booty is most visible when she's digging the grave in the woods. No outright nudity, but it's got some parts that are scary or a at least creepy.
