After getting fired from his boring job Sai who is to get married in three days time, goes drinking with his friend Jani, his house gets robbed. Sai loses everything including the diamond necklace later in the evening he gets into a stupid challenge with his NRI friend Krishna. Sai and Jani take up the challenge that Sai wont get married until they find the thief. Their mad caper begins when they meet up dude, a pot-smoking slacker loafing aimlessly with his pet goat. They are running against time and desperate, with just three days for Sai to get married. In this journey of self-exploration, they are neck deep in trouble. Will they find what they are looking for? Only time will tell.

Writer and Director Prashant kumar kept the title Take it easy, but upon suggestion from his filmmaker friend Sandeep Reddy Vanga changed the name to Mithai.

A horse was planned for the opening dream sequence but that could not happen as Rahul did not know horse riding it was changed to donkey. The idea was suggested by Rahul himself.

Prashant initially wanted to use dog as pet for dude but budget constraints and difficulty in handling dogs while shooting made him change the pet to a Goat named 'Sundari'

Due to date issues with Rahul Ramakrishna actor Shafi was roped in to play Sai but as Prashant has written the role with Rahul Ramakrishna in mind he couldn't see anybody but Rahul and Rahul came back in the project.

Each and every painting used in the film is custom painted for the film and there are lots of paintings used.

As a good friend and the love shafi had for this film he trained few actors with his workshops before the shooting.

Prashant started writing this story out of his boredom on the whatsapp in the middle of the night and reached till interval in few minutes flat but got stuck after the interval because of mental block and then after three days while drinking beer at heart cup the other half was written on whatsapp. It was converted from 2 page whatsapp to a proper 167 page celtx complete screen play in 7 days.

The idea for the Liberation Song a 7 minute song came as Prashant was stuck in a traffic jam near inorbit mall in the evening and he saw 1000s of employees coming out of the massive buildings over there most of the people coming out with tired face, Prashant decided to give them a song to liberate from the jobs they might not br interested in. From the beginning the song was 7 minutes.

Three different goats were used for the shoot as the goat used to grow very fast. By the end of the movie finding the rite goat same age same color became a very difficult task for the crew and most of the crew use to spend days in different parts of Hyderabad looking for Goats

The idea of having Goat head as the poster came when Rahul Ramakrishna could not shave his beard due to continuity problems in the other films he was working on, with dates being announced for the poster release, Prashant came up with this idea as to have abstract poster

There were three different goats used in the film as the goats used to grow very fast between the schedule breaks, by the end of 4th schedule the entire crew were looking for days all over the Hyderabad and shooting got delayed as they were not getting same color and same size goat.
