When child prodigy Stephanie Glass graduates college at the age of 16, she has her whole life - and medical school - right in front of her. But having never made a connection with someone her own age, she decides to re-enroll in high school for the life experience that she missed out on.

The high school in the movie is actually the school from which the majority of the cast and crew graduated.

The character of Lou emerged on the first day of shooting. Producer Ryan Lloyd was needed to be an extra for the track scene. He pointed to the wheelchair the crew had been using for dolly shots and asked, "Can my character be handicapped?" The director agreed and the character of Lou was born.

Only one member - Cole Buchanan - of the primary cast and crew was 21 or older during shooting.

The editing process took a whopping two and a half years.

The crew had the Peachtree City Police Department called on them while shooting the bridge jump sequence. Thankfully, they had just gotten the last shot they needed and the police let them off with a warning.
