Although but recently opened to the commerce and general educational and industrial advancement of the Western world. Japan has not been slow to accept and benefit by modern means of transportation. Due to the peculiar typographical construction of the country, however, many of the more picturesque and characteristic modes of travel such as the jinriksha and the palanquin are still in general use.

Released in the US as a split reel along with the documentary The Heart and the Circulation of the Blood (1914).
