Short summary

Gibbs is surprised that he must pick a man, Mcgee, to escort brilliant ITC colleague Kevin Hussein, who repatriates his uncle, a professor who died in Moskow. Despite a warning from the Russian government, late terror brain Ari Haswari's national 'fan club president' Yiri mobilizes a team to shoot down the US helicopter on its way to Finland. Suspicious about the Russian lack of cooperation or even disclosure, the home team discovers that the corpse was already repatriated, perform an autopsy and find a memory device inside. Before Gibbs can warn Abby, as Kevin came clean, it spreads a virus despite normally sufficient precautions. Gibbs' party must fight and run for their lives to reach Finland.

The coffee mug on Gibbs' table towards the end has the name "Ralph" on it, a tribute to the late Ralph Waite who played Gibbs's father Jackson Gibbs.

In some scenes Pauley Perrette's face seem to be puffy. This is because it is a allergic reaction to hair dye she had which nearly killed her

The working title of the episode was "The Most Dangerous Game", undoubtedly a reference to the classic story by Richard Connell.

"Twenty klicks" is slang for twenty kilometers. Though the United States is one of the few countries that doesn't use the metric system to measure distance, the military uses it almost exclusively in order to facilitate communication with allied forces around the world.

The rifle Gibbs obtains from the Russian henchman at the helo is a Soviet Dragonov svd. It was designed in the late 50s, but adopted in late 1963 or early 1964; depending on which Soviet propaganda you believe. It is considered a squad support rifle; not a "sniper" rifle as some mistakenly believe. It once had 10,000.00 bounty for those who captured it. It is very rare in the United States, therefore it remains expensive. Though many have turned up in Afghanistan, presumably left over from the failed Soviet invasion.

Absolutely appalling episode. My mother would describe it as sh*t from China (far fetched!)

There were so many holes I could strain my spaghetti through it.

Firstly the three NCIS members survive a surface to air missile attack in a helicopter. Unfortunately the two pilots don't - they obviously needed special NCIS training!

The NCIS team escape from a fire fight with Russian terrorists, but then have time to relax and build fires when the Russians were only about 500 metres behind them.

Back home Abby gets a Micro SD card which she realises might have a virus. She takes what turn out to be woefully inadequate precautions and the virus sweeps through the NCIS systems but doesn't actually seem to cause any damage.

Perhaps she could have used a computer that wasn't linked into a network and a few miles away from base if she deemed ultra precautions were necessary?

The team are picked up by the Finish army who drive in from the border. Then rush off in the same direction deeper into Russia along a perfectly straight road to get back. Hint to driver - turn round to go back the way you came.

Gibbs kills the main baddie but doesn't bother checking and finds that in fact he is impervious to bullets or perhaps was wearing a bullet proof vest unlike the other three Gibbs shot and successfully killed!

Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come in Season 12.

NCIS is always a very nice choice for tuesdays nights, and yesterday was no different. In season 12 all the cast is involved with the show and the performances were great. Bishop is a very nice replacement for Ziva and the team seems be doing well. More than 18 million people watched the show last night and NCIS was the top in viewers. It won the night and I am sure it will won the week because TBBT has less people watching. For me it is the best show on TV and NOLA was quit good too. I am sure NCIS will have many many many seasons. Mark Harmon is the best and play agent Gibbs as no one else could. All cast seem very comfortable with the show and they make a great one.
