Silent Screamplay II (2006) watch online HD

SILENT SCREAMPLAY II is a straight-to-video sequel to the first psycho thriller, once again shot on somebody's video camera in a couple of apartments. Denise Riley returns from the first movie, which is somewhat unusual for anyone who has seen that film, but perhaps she's playing a different character; it's never really made clear. What is clear is that she's in the Janet Leigh mould here; appearing starkly nude in an early scene before being gorily dispatched.

Sadly, the death of Riley's character marks the end of this movie's interest, because the new story just isn't as interesting. Riley's acting in the first film was on the same level as a typical TV movie while the newcomer actors never rise above an amateurish level. In addition, the plot seems to be a mere retread of that seen in the first movie, and you'll be nearly dozing off long before the credits finally roll.

I got a hold of a screener copy of this film, with the budget and the behind the scenes information of the making of. I was very surprised with the final product. There are so many low-budget movies with great box covers, trailers and promotional materials. Then the disappointment comes after only a few minutes into the movie. Then a bigger disappointment after you watched the entire movie. Not in this case. Royce Dudley's directing style in this film brings back the old campy style films of the past. He doesn't rely on special effects, and flashbacks to move the film along. He cast the movie really good. Elina Madison and Chris Blacksmith carry this movie all the way to the end. Chris brings unexpected comedy laughter to the screen and Elina with 41 movies to her credits delivers a solid professional performance. It's a definite must see for any upcoming film maker. Great weekend rental, Good job I'm Looking forward to Silent Scream Play 3.
