During the summer of 1861, the average workmen Hugh (Kobe Cafe) and his friend John (Dylan Griffith) are evading the law. The first United State income tax has just been imposed, at 3% of all incomes over 800 dollars in order to help pay for the war effort in the American Civil War. On their run from the government, they encounter a series characters, virtues, and obstacles. Friendships are tested, conflicts arise, and the battle rages on.
