Short summary

The pressure is on for British intelligence officer George to gather information on the terrorist organisation Munathma. He attempts to convince a Middle Eastern student Lydia to spy on a revolutionary group operating in her university, which may have ties to Munathma. Will Lydia work for George or leave him out in the cold?

One scene from The Dry Cleaner was shot in Ballast Quay because of its impressive view of Canary Wharf. Ballast Quay has been used as a location in multiple films, including The Secret Partner featuring Bernard Lee who played the original M in the James Bond films.

Another scene from The Dry Cleaner was shot in Bishop's Gate behind Liverpool Street station. This location was also used in the James Bond film Skyfall and Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit.

The safe house scenes from The Dry Cleaner were shot in an apartment around the corner from the fictional MI6 HQs in the John Le Carre film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

The Dry Cleaner's first assistant director Chris Deighton worked on the James Bond movie Spectre.

The last day of principle of photography was filmed on VE day. The gold commander in charge of Security for the event summoned director Chris Carr. He asked what the production was about and Chris explained they were making a spy film. He then replied: "I love spy films, go get on with it!"

During post-production, director Chris Carr developed an idea of a podcast series connected to The Dry Cleaner film in which he interviews intelligence professionals, authors and experts on the world of espionage and terrorism. The series is called The Dry CleanerCast.
