When sweethearts Elvina Grey ( Marguerite Snow ) and Dr. Dexter ( Landers Stevens ) are injured in a laboratory explosion, the cowardly physician leaves the small town when he is told that Elvina's face will be scarred for life. Twenty-five years later Elvina and the doctor return, she with a heavy veil over her face, and he a widower with a son, also a physician. When Dexter hears that Elvina is lonely, he wants to atone for his youthful folly and proposes marriage. Elvina not only refuses, she also lifts her veil to reveal a beautiful, unmarked face. Filled with remorse, the doctor commits suicide. It seems assured that Elvina will finally find happiness with a kindly gardener ,The Piper ( Edward Coxen ).

This 1922 melodrama was produced by the Renco Film Company, starring the beautiful actress Marguerite Snow. Sadly it now remains a lost silent film.
