Languedoc is a province of France which lays between the Garonne River and the Rhone, with the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean on the south. In spring and early summer no part of France possesses more delightful climate than Languedoc and the province is of interest to the public in general because of the fact that it is considered a great health resort for consumptives. Here may still be heard the soft accents of the Langue d'Oc, a language which has not even yet spoken its last word in the poetry of the world. The ruins of the old Roman town, the lagoon, the five medieval fortresses, the old tower and inns, the little known scenery of the Eastern Pyrenees with the castles and churches make the country one of the most interesting in the whole of France.
