Short summary

When millionaire art collector Jonas Gault dies, he leaves a messy family situation and a complete, curated collection of artist, Jean Mettier, as part of his estate. While the kids are in DC, Sophie sneaks to the Gault estate for an art auction. It takes Nate 20 whole minutes to deduce her planned itinerary and affix upon her tail. Sophie claims she just wants to view 'Ma Mystere,' Mettier's first work which no person but the artist and owner have ever seen. Sophie claims it is just personal interest. Sterling turns up a few seconds after the crowd discovers the painting is missing and turns up the heat.

Sophie and Sterling use the aliases Tennant and Smith. David Tennant and Matt Smith played the tenth and eleventh incarnation of the Doctor on Доктор Кто (2005)

When Sophie tells the security guard "That's my painting...no offense to you and your company but I've lost art in shipping before" clsiming to be the Duchess of Islington-Barrow, she's actually referencing her story in 'The Rashomon Job" - where her attempt to steal the dagger by having it shipped to her warehouse is foiled (unknowingly by the other members of Leverage, Inc.)

At the beginning of the episode, Nate tells Sophie that Hardisen, Parker and Elliot are staying in DC and they don't appear in the show. The next episode takes place in DC and Nate and Sophie don't appear.

This is the third episode in which Sophie uses British vulgarity ("I'll be buggered"). The first time was in the very first episode "The Nigerian Job" when she called Nate a "wanker" in the flashback scene after he had shot her in the back(side?). The second was in the first episode of season 2, "The Beantown Bailout Job", where she says "Bugger" after knocking out Nate with a serving tray.

When Nate starts describing the events in the murder mystery Sophie interrupts saying, "Spoilers." A phrase used by the character, River Song in the British TV show, Doctor Who. River was first introduced during David Tennant's seasons.

When Sophie and Sterling are interviewing the family lawyer, she identifies them as Agent Tennant and Agent Smith - two of the actors who played The Doctor in the famed British television series, "Dr. Who." David Tennant was the tenth doctor from 2005 to 2010, and Matt Smith played The Doctor from 2010 to 2013.

At 3:43 Nate asks Sophie "Is very this a German reisling?" She replies "New Zealand.". The address was born in New Zealand.

The events in this episode occur concurrently with the events in "The Rundown Job." This also happened in the previous season when the team split up for two back-to-back episodes.
