Short summary

Dr. Wagner is a scientist currently working on an experiment for the Asta plant in East Berlin. If the experiment succeeds its brilliant new invention. The Asta company would be able to make the expensive material copper independent. But Wagner is the target of sabotage, and all the decisive experiment fails. Wagner can not explain this setback, and can be tempted by a campaign controlled by the West to commit repugnance. It is only when he arrives in West Berlin, where he is supposed to be abused for propaganda against the GDR in a broadcast by RIAS radio station, that the connections become clear. Finally, with the help of an admirer of his daughter Inge, the company assistant Hans Henning, he manages to return to East Berlin.
