Short summary
Film debut for Joshua St. Leger.
Pre production lasted for six months to plan for a strenuous three day shoot that lasted for fifteen hours each day.
The complete schedule changed over three times for principal photography and the last schedule was done the night before filming because of a surprise snow storm that came in for the first day of shooting.
The actors went through two months, twice a week in rehearsals at the production company's office with extensive research of creating their back stories and diving into their characters.
All three days of filming were spent at one location at a private, single house in Long Island, NY.
Because of the snow and school yard across the street, the first day of filming during the weekday was a scheduling obstacle in order to film the exteriors shots needed because of actors conflicts, weather discrepancies, equipment, buses and children, and a child actor on set.
Between the subject matter and the harsh dialogue used towards a child, the parents of the actor were on set at all times, guiding and supporting him throughout the whole process.
The feces used in the film was chocolate fudge and fake marijuana was used during the whole production.
The make up department and director used a mixture of real sugar, powder and make up to cover the child's face in one of the scenes that required him to inhale a ton of sugar. The child actor was bouncing off the walls for hours and then crashed by taking a nap.
Original screenplay pitched to R&F Entertainment was over 50 pages. The script was cut down with the script editors to be under 45 pages. The first cut of the film with the shortened script was over 50 minutes in length which included the opening titles and closing credits. The film went back into editing until a 34-minute cut was finalized for the World Premiere. Afterward, the producer recommended to the director that the film should be re-edited and trimmed down near the 20-minute mark. The film went back into editing until the 25-minute version of the film was completed and finalized.
