Trailers "Scream: The TV Series Revelations (2015– )"
This episode will honor Wes Craven, who died of brain cancer on August 30th, 2015. He was the director of all the Scream movies, as well as executive producer of the series.
This is the first episode to air since the death of Scream (1996) director Wes Craven who also served as executive producer on this series.
Jake's (Tom Maden) line "What is this, 1996?" is a reference to the first Scream movie, Scream (1996), which was released that year.
The Killer will be unmasked in this episode.
There will be a twist in this episode,
In the Season 1 finale episode, characters discuss using a landline in Brooke's (Carlson Young home to call for help. Jake (Tom Maden) then asks "A land line? What is this, 1996?"
1996 is the year the first Scream (1996) movie came out.
Tom Maden (Jake Fitzgerald) and Bobby Campo (Seth Branson) previously co-starred in General Education (2012).
After being shot by Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus), Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) falls into the water, the same way Brandon James did. When she comes back up, Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) shoots her in the head and says "They always come back." This references what Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy) says in the first Scream movie.
Body Count (3) Clark (Jason Wiles), Guy at Party and Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire).
The killers are revealed to be Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) and possibly Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus).
The reveal of Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) as Ghostface pays homage to the reveal of Roman Bridger (Scott Foley) as the killer in Scream 3 (2000). Like Roman, she is never actually seen being slain on screen, although it's heavily implied she's seriously injured, if not dead, thus setting up the surprise twist when she removes the Brandon James mask.
Season 1 body count: 9 (1. Tyler O'Neill (Max Lloyd-Jones), 2. Nina Paterson (Bella Thorne), 3. Rachel Murray (Sosie Bacon), 4. Riley Marra (Brianne Tju), 5. Will Belmont (Connor Weil), 6. Deputy Roberts (John Teal Jr.), 7. Clark Hudson (Jason Wiles), 8. Grayson Pfeiffer (Bryce Romero), 9. Piper Shaw (Amelia Rose Blaire)) - not including the 1994 flashbacks.
Before Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) is shot, she begins to tell Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) about a "surprise she never saw coming". This surprise is that Keiran (Amadeus Serafini) was actually Piper's boyfriend.
In the voicemail Emma leaves for Kieran, she mistakenly says "Brandon's gone missing" instead of Branson.
