Short summary

On his way home from the grocery store, Duncan is the victim of a hit and run. He is rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but due to his remarkable recovery time he is able to check himself out shortly after he arrives. This is noticed by a doctor who drugs and kidnaps Duncan so that he can experiment on him. Meanwhile, reporter Randi MacFarland is hot on the trail of Duncan's disappearance.

This episode is a variation of a theme in the series. What happens when mortals learn of immortality. In this case, mortal Dr. Paul Wilder is experimenting on Duncan to find a way to replicate his healing factor.

The villain of the episode Dr. Paul Wilder is a practitioner of human experimentation. He kidnaps people and uses them as test subjects to try to find ways to improve human healing. The episode reports of several missing patients from the hospital where Wilder works. His experiments seem to be lethal for the test subjects.

The episode features no other immortals except Duncan MacLeod. The only villain is a mortal doctor and the theme is a tale of human experimentation.

The episode features no flashback scenes. "Highlander" episodes typically feature flashback scenes, depicting the past of one or more characters and drawing a connection to the present.

The "Highlander" series features immortals being able to recover from almost any injury, since they have a healing factor which helps them regenerate. In this episode, Duncan quickly recovers from a traffic accident, but he is still affected by drugs in his system.

Dr. Paul Wilder also kidnaps reporter Randi McFarland and plans to use her as a test subject. Duncan rescues the damsel-in-distress.

This episode shows Duncan (and presumably other immortals) as having regenerative powers after his skin heals from cut with no mark. This contradicts the movie as The Kurgan carried a characteristic scar across his throat for most of the film.
