A glimpse of living Mexica (Aztec) traditions, 'Mikailwitl' is a poetic meditation on the work of Kalpulli Ehecatl, a Dance and educational collective. This 'micro-Documentary' film intercuts a spoken introduction by PAZ (Mapitzmitl Xiukwetzpaltzin), the Dance group Leader, with performances of 'Yolotzin' ('Precious Heart') and 'Mikiztli' ('Death Dance') as filmed at the National Hispanic Cultural Center as part of their performance of 'Mikailwitl' ( 'A Journey of Life and Death' ), a dance, music and poetry cultural presentation.
