Short summary

Juror #7 Joe McUsic, who runs a halfway house, drops dead of cyanide-poisoning during Otis Williams's high-profile trial for the murder of heiress Lyla Addison. Juror #4 Tony Mueller runs as he believed Otis's cousin, Wardell, poisoned Joe and he'd be next. Wardell claims he is being framed just as the cops are trying to frame Otis. The cyanide came not from the court house vending machine coffee but was released from a capsule. The plot thickens when it was found that Joe McUsic used a bribe to be put into the jury pool. The case is complicated as there doesn't appear to be any link between Joe McUsic, Otis Williams or Lyla Addison.

In the scene when Captain Montgomery goes to D.A. Karnacki's office, the D.A. is drinking the famous scotch from the episode Castle: Last Call (2010).

While being interrogated, the defendant's cousin remarks that the police have him pulling a "Bigger Thomas." Bigger Thomas was the protagonist in the novel Native Son, by Richard Wright in which a young black man is accused of killing a wealthy white girl.

Stana Katic was the 'good' vampire and Bruce Davidson was the 'bad' vampire in The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice (2008).

Beckett says that 'Forbidden Planet' was the inspiration for 'Star Wars'. Forbidden Planet has a quasi-military ship on a long term deep space mission stop by a xeno-archeological station researching ancient alien technology. The captain, doctor, and science officer get pulled into a life and death crisis and the captain gets the girl. This inspired Star Trek.

I liked this episode. I do not live in the US and I'm not American, and I don't think the racial types were exaggerated in this ep. or anything. There are black and white people involved in the case (the accused is a black man) but I was not looking into discrimination issues and therefore I did not find any.

I think this was a nice Castle ep. The plot is triggered by a murder that Castle and Beckett investigate, with the help of the awesomes Ryan and Esposito. They find twists along their investigation that bring them back and forth among several apparent suspects until they find the guilty one, which for me was unexpected. The guy here that said the show is predictable and boring, well, he must be a psychic, you should try Medium! For me it was the pretty usual "Castle", great performances and chemistry from all the actors, good dialogs, twists and quality.

Within the first few seconds of this episode I knew immediately what the outcome was going to be and why and there was nothing whatsoever surprising in this episode.

It was an obvious setup that the bad guys were going to be rich white people (the prosecutor was whiter than white with his white hair) and the "victims" were going to the black defendant who was equally obviously innocent and a relative or friend who broke the law by tampering with the jury but that was ignored. Boring, boring, boring.

I have been a fan of Nathan Fillion since I first saw him in the last season of "Buffy". There he played a truly evil monster with a frighteningly realistic persona serving the "First" evil (it was of course a fantasy series).

He then starred in the Firefly TV series and the movie "Serenity". His character portrayal was once again quite believable as a hard-on-the-outside black-market trader operating outside the law and following his own rules.

When he appeared in this series, I was delighted and, until recently, have looked forward to every episode with great anticipation.

It truly saddens me to say that I will no longer be following this series. The reason is simple; the writers have elected to use this program as a liberal platform to trash rich white people in utterly obvious and unsubtle ways. Consider the episode where our crushing national debt was given the OK by Stana Katics' character.

There are only three shows left on television which have not gone over to the "Dark Side" (Star Wars Reference not racial). I will not name them for fear that activists will try to influence their writing.

FYI: I am a Libertarian, not a Republican.
