Short summary

When three struggling journalists, who are pressured into finding a for their struggling journalism company, lead journalist Mark James Houston runs into a catholic school teacher, who gets immediately intimated by Mark's presence and pressure, as the school is empty on a 7:00 A.M. morning. As Mark learns there was a child molestation inside the catholic school in his California small town, he decides to take on the story with his team, before the big headlines do.

On April 1st, 2017. Jeremiah Carbajal and his crew were able to finish the film in nine-hours.

American Moonlight was originally supposed to be a feature film, but changed into a short, due to budget, after two attempts at trying to make the film a feature film. Too, it was originally titled 'Light-Post'.

Director Jeremiah Carbajal made this film because he encounters a sexual-predator on the phone. He then decided to track the caller down, but had no luck. So, after two months of February 2015, he wrote a screenplay about how child sexual abuse is ignored in schools, just not churches.

Director, Writer, and Producer Jeremiah Carbajal wrote 'American Moonlight' three-times in 2016-17, as a feature film, short film, and now a newer/stellar feature film script, for distribution and financing. Then, in 2015, he wrote 'Light-Post' (now titled American Moonlight) one time, but absolutely hated it, and called it "my worse piece of work... I need to re-do it."

Director Jeremiah Carbajal decided to make American Moonlight a short film, to send to film festivals to look for financing to make the feature film.

Director Jeremiah Carbajal and Gabriel Anthony Palma, were both sick when filming.

Steve Silkotch and Jeremiah Carbajal were the first two actors of the film who've been through the bumpy road of transitions of the film.

During takes, Gabriel Anthony Palma would sing today's rap music to Javier Melgar Santoveña, to annoy him, while the crew laughed.

During the night filming ended, and dinner was over, director Jeremiah Carbajal crashed on his bed and woke up the next day at 12:00 P.M.

During dinner after filming, Jeremiah told the crew his inspirations to make the film were Spotlight (2015), Shattered Glass (2003), and JFK (1991)

The film was edited in 14 hours.

It took over 17 takes to nail the school scene with Jim (Silkotch) and Mark (Palma).

In one scene, director Jeremiah Carbajal placed executive producer Daniel Juan Campos in a rear-view mirror, to symbolize Jeremiah Carbajal and Daniel Juan Campos new show 'I Am Mr. NormaL', about fabricating outside tragedies, while making money about the.

This is Jeremiah Carbajal's first major short film.

Originally, Jeremiah Carbajal was not supposed to direct American Moonlight, but changed when his cast favored him over someone experienced.

Acquired by Bad Corner Distribution for $11,500.
